Growing up as brothers in our family - music wasn't an art form, a demonstration of talent or even always an enjoyment. It constituted communication. It was language.
The rough and tumble of life hit us pretty hard and at young ages as everything disconnected we were always able to connect when we played together. In the exchange there was encouragement, respect, understanding,sharing - a conversation, integration and expression hard to find anywhere else. Music had a voice - it spoke when words couldn't and sang when there was nothing to say - music is our language.
