Designed for Kuya, a state-of-the-art health clinic in Austin, TX that is incorporating paradigm-shifting therapeutics, integrative psychiatry, and regenerative medicine into a visionary approach to trauma processing and healing, ‘Cura’ offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing, and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of Kuya and producers Amani Friend and Poranguí.

Embedded with the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ is best experienced in its “Journey Mix” format, where the boundaries between movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. "Fragrance," by Liquid Bloom and Bloomurian, is a mesmerizing sonic journey that unites the shamanic cultures from two regions of the planet, South America and Siberia. This track is also a fundraiser to bring awareness and funds to both Futuro Native and OLOX, organizations doing beautiful work to help indigenous people around the world.

With ancestral vocals from Inin Rao Shipibo and Siberian Sakha vocalist Snow Raven, this song transports listeners to the depths of the natural world. In addition, Yube from the Huni Kuin tribe offers his spoken word, adding to the rich tapestry of this unique collaboration.

The song blends traditional sounds with modern beats, using the haunting tones of the Siberian jaws harp and earthy jungle percussion to create an organic downtempo-electronic sound. The atmospheres and global vocals transport the listener to another realm, evoking the essence and power of ancient traditions. 

"Fragrance" is an immersive experience and invites the listener on a journey of inner self-discovery.

A portion of the proceeds from this song will be offered to 'Futuro Nativo' to support women weavers and embroiderers in the Shipibo village of San Francisco, Peru, as well as to support the Sahka people of Siberia through Snow Raven's project ‘OLOX’.

Sol is the fourth offering of the Kuya Sessions. Cura led us on a shamanic journey of body-centered awareness. Our journey continued in Samadhi, unifying individual and universal consciousness. Akasha brought us to exquisitely ethereal realms and now Sol carefully weaves the terrestrial and celestial sounds of our ancient solar origin as children of the sun. 

“Igniting the Sacred” beckons us to venture beyond the familiar world of illusion. In preparation for the great journey ahead, the soothing sound of vocalist Meagan Chandler and Poranguí ask the benevolent guardian Spirits to open the roads and grant us safe passage.   

Gently purified in the celestial flames of truth, the imaginal cells of our awareness emerge from the primordial sound of “Liminal Sun” to reconnect with the original solar pulse of all creation.  Ancestral Nahuatl invocations carry us across the timeless song lines to meet our heart’s most sacred essence.  

As we emerge in “The Great Turning”, we are embraced by the rolling thunder of our majestic blue home amidst the vast cosmos.  Through the dark side of the Sol, we return more whole, awakening to the blessings of the Waters with an original prayer song for the Afro-Brazilian goddess of the sea, Iemanja, and a morning water prayer song from Native American elder, Chief Delbert “Blackfox” Pomani of the Hunkpapa Lakota.

Gracing the shores of Lake Atitlan - Guatemala after 1.5 years abroad! Welcomed warmly by the community of Lago Atitlan, i offered a 2.5hr Ecstatic Dance at Gaia Dance Temple in Tzununa and it was my FAVORITE set to date! 

The mix is a fusion of Bass music, Shamanic, Tribal electronic, Dance EDM, Reggae Dub, Funk and more... i really kept this one dynamic!!

This set was recorded for Ecstatic Dance, in Oakland, CA on Weds, January 29th, 2020. I play live lead guitar with FX periodically through this mix.

I tend to curate a more eclectic set with many different genre blends, mostly in 10-20 minute blocks for the 3 hour period with energy bursts and then releases so that the dancers get a chance to rest between bursts. 

Focus is on fun dance rhythms, cutting edge music with an international vibe and a lot of bass!
