'Zat U Santa Claws?

Artist, free thinker, music producer, experimenter, vagabond, introvert, and a bit of a lunatic, Zane Brune comes from the rural midwest with dreams of rock & roll "dancing in his head." Having moved to Chicago and heavily influenced by the blues, spoken word poetry, the beat generation, punk rock, jazz, and avant-garde music, Zane has developed his own unique style of expressiveness in his music creation. After teaching himself how to play the keyboard and the drums at the tender age of 10, Brune has been writing and creating music in all forms ever since. Brune has worked with other vocalists, guitar players, song-writers, and other music talents to inform his projects, but also thrives in electronic production and "sound collage".

Zane first formed "The Incline" back in 2010 with three of his buddies, but fell apart upon scheduling conflicts. Quickly following "The Incline" came the duo "Too Be Young" which created a demo album that was never released. Brune decided to go solo in 2012 with his album "Stab" and has since created over 25 albums - 19 of which consist of original songs by Brune. He has a true love for music-making in all of its perfections and imperfections. "Music today is too bland, too "perfect", too extroverted, selfish", describes Brune. Keith from Indie Band Guru states most concretely in saying, "most musicians we come across really like what they do. But it becomes obvious almost immediately when we come across an artist that truly loves making music and the hard work that goes into it. It becomes part of the fiber of who they are. A good example of this is our recent discovery, Zane Brune."

SleepingBagStudios recently wrote an article that encompasses Brune quite well stating, “Zane Brune is never going to be, sound or act…normal. This is music for the fringe…the people out there that want something different than they’ll ever hear anywhere else…music that challenges the ears in all kinds of splendid ways and truly takes you into the world of a true audio-visionary.”
