“This was my first gig after quite a long break so I’d been stockpiling my favourite tunes from the last few months, and there were so many that I was desperate to try out, things like the Crackazat tracks, Radio Slave, Santos, Maps and so on. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking playing again after having time off (for me anyway), and Buenos Aires is always such an important and special place to me, but once in that room with that amazing crowd, I immediately felt like I hadn’t been away. I have to credit Anhauser for the way they opened the room, leaving me space to start my set as deep as I wanted – it’s such an important role and they set the mood perfectly. It was a five-hour set but honestly, I wish it could have carried on, I was having such an incredible time. And I can’t wait to return.”

If you walked into any club worth its salt back in 2009, chances were pretty high you would encounter one of the most outrageous tracks to be released that year. Patrice Bäumel’s ‘Roar’ (on Get Physical records) was a perfect slice of techno/house/electronica madness, a track so woundly tied up that you could physically feel the anxiety rise up in your body in anticipation for what was about to happen. That release heralded a new force on the scene and can rightly be considered as Bäumel’s breakout track. Fast forward 6 years later, and the ex-Trouw resident has attained a level of maturity with his sound that few artists reach, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by major players like K7, Systematic, Diynamic, Trouw and Turbo, all of whom has released his music at some point. Part of the Kompakt stable now, Baumel has been spreading his house/techno gospel all around the world, delivering the sort of epic, yet somehow restraint sets, that will make you seek all of his online mixes afterwards. He really has been going about his business in a way that is admirable and non-fussy, describing what he does as ‘techno music for grown-ups’ – a very apt description indeed. One read of his excellent interview below really paints a picture of an artist who just LOVES music, and it really shows in the tracklisting which features a host of obscure, yet excellent selections. And we are pleased to say that his Balance podcast might just go down as a stone cold classic.

What an exceptional day/night we had at the Rio Revel with Hernan Cattaneo and Guy Mantzur.  

More than 1200 people gathered to be in a beautiful journey provided by these amazing Artists along with Sydney's favourite locals. 

I had the pleasure of  playing before Guy Mantzur which was a lot of fun with an energetic and music loving crowd. A night i will remember for a long long time so thank you everyone.

Happy to share my set from Rainbow Serpent Festival 2019. This year I played before Way Out West on the Market stage 1:30pm - 3:00pm and I loved every moment of it. This is a special place and Im very grateful that I get to play here and connect with people on deeper levels through music.

Amháin @ Rainbow Serpent Festival 2019 ~ Market stage

Took the last few days to piece back together the set from The Brooklyn Mirage recently, opening for Sasha and Digweed for what ended up being a Twilo reunion on so many levels, with much of the old crew from those days in the late 90s making the trek for what was a special show from start to finish.  The somewhat older, more diverse crowd came early and stayed until closing, with top notch production from the Avant Gardner/Brooklyn Mirage, incredible KV2 sound and just smiles all around throughout the night.  Many thanks to all those involved and to those that considered myself at the top of the list for warming up the night.
