Vanishing Grove is a concept album exploring the turbulence of black childhood inspired by the work of Dr. Joy Degruy and my own childhood.

The album follows a story in which I explore my childhood memories through a recurring dream. I wrestle with abuse, neglect, vacant esteem, and generational trauma and how they relate to the internalized anti-blackness. The intent of this work is for my own healing, but also to reclaim and share my truth in my own words.

This track was going to be part of a future album (1 of 4). It doesn't fit the overall vibe of the release, but I super love it so I figured I'd release it as it's own thing. At the time of releasing this, I have pretty bad tendonitis and haven't been able to do much for about a week and a half. Listening back to this track, along with a few others I previously worked on, are giving me a little boost of hope.
