Through the Wall -Zarah

Recorded live and in one take as a part of the prestigious Melbourne Song Contest after attracting attention from sponsors, Zarah's most recent song, Kids, is a semi-autobiographical song about the tumultuous and sometimes traumatic transitional phase one goes through between young adulthood and "real" adulthood.        
Nostalgic, honest and tragic, this song is a fascinating narrative on growing up, growing apart and the often painful clarity of hind sight. 

Kids - Zarah

Written in a 20 minute frenzy and recorded when Zarah was the mere age of 17 this song is a great show of Zarah's trademark impassioned vocal style. The first recorded example of her experimentation with open tuning her raggedy old acoustic guitar, and arranging other instruments. This song features the deep rumbling of piano accordion which grounds the track and sets a deeply melancholic foundation for her vocals. Charlie Powlett from Second Hand Sound plays beautiful accompaniment and captures her sound in a raw, semi-live setting that draws listeners in to the belly of the beast that is the fury and love of a young woman.
