Morphing Fluidity

Head down, the bass thumping, the crowd writhing and turning with a singular purpose in mind. Images of dimly lit clubs and roars of approval flit through your mind when listening to our premiere for today, Vintage, by Terrain. The song begins with a deep and unwavering bass line, throbbing like a pulse through the air. Its consistency forms the backbone of the composition, rhythmically grounding the listeners. Military-like snares snap through and keep the energy marching forward as the track progresses through a haunting, dubbed melody and disembodied voices echoed throughout. 

Vintage and the rest of Terrain’s Corners EP will be out on the Kosovo based imprint, Vargmal Records on August 25th.

This season, synonymous with life and renewal, is the perfect time to launch this new opus in the ACCENTVA series, a deliberately eclectic and inclusive review of current developments on the electronic music scene. With a more generous format than ever before, it makes room for both well-known label producers and pioneering artists whose work criss-crosses the world with their unique and immediately identifiable sound. Thirty artists have responded to the invitation and are brought together here to give us a glimpse into the prism of contemporary musical creation. Nor are there any presupposed and therefore definitive barriers of genre or style, On the contrary, the contours here are intended to be voluntarily porous and slippery, each track being interconnected with another, or at least echoing what we might call the zeitgeist.

Stefan began DJing in 1994 in Lille, in the north of France. He was a former resident DJ at the Kiosk club in Lille from 2004 to 2006. After many years immersed in the techno scene, he met Florence in the mid-2010s, who provided him with opportunities to perform at Les Charades Électroniques shows and with EC Underground web radio from 2015 to 2022. Now, Stefan plays various kinds of electronic music, consistently delivering a mental sound.
