Au cours des quinze dernières années, les Zillas ont été les DJ résidents de MAKING TIME, l'institution de la vie nocturne sans fin de Philadelphie. Depuis la sortie en 2019 de leurs EP Black Cat (Optimo Music) et She Takes NRG (Les Disques de la Mort d'Ivan Smagghe), les Zillas s'affairent à constituer un catalogue régulier d'EP, de morceaux et de remix pour des labels comme Polari, Nocturne, Dischi Autunno, Inside Out, Multi Culti, Throne of Blood, Microdosing, et plus encore. En cours de route, ils ont obtenu le soutien de compagnons de voyage futuristes comme Roman Flügel, Dixon, Jennifer Cardini, Justin Strauss, Bradley Zero, Sean Johnston et bien d'autres. Au plus profond du studio ou du club, les Zillas mélangent du death disco au ralenti, de la musique de boîte à rythmes doublée et bien sûr de l'ACID pour exciter les fêtards de toutes les planètes.

Velmondo is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist producer and Barcelona based DJ Arnau Obiols. His debut EP 'Moongazing' appeared on Hivern Discs iin 2019 drawing inspiration from early forms of electronic music from the 70s, wether it is dub, krautrock, industrial, ambient, post-punk, to conjure enigmatic atmospheres through raw and primitive sounds.In January 2020 he released the EP 'Mad Honey' along the Swedish duo MLiR, on Prins Thomas' label Internasjonal, gaining support from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Red Axes or Roman Flügel, amongst others. Distilling a unique approach to acid, trance and tribal influences, the esoteric techno single 'Infinity' arrived in June 2020 through Nitsa Traxx, including a remix by Marving & Guy on the flipside.
Velmondo also shares a project with John Talabot called Mioclono that debuted with the track 'Center of Things' in the Hivern Discs compilation 'Fragments'.

Giovanni Isgrò aka Maple Juice is a Dj, producer and sound engineer based in Milan.
His musical inspirations, in a nutshell, stat from artists like Prokofiev and Satie, pass through all the black culture of the Delta, dive deep into the sound of the 70’s (especially '74 - '77 dirty grooves, sometimes '78), and end up with the latest dances of Chicago and Detroit.
His djsets range from Soul, Undergound Disco and Boogie Funk to Hip Hop, Ghetto House and Footwork.
Lately he has been performing a bouncy live set with MPC and other gears. The production is a blend of sampled grooves, odd drum machines, and different styles of synths.

"Since I was a kid, I spent all my free time with music. Especially MTV and the German channel VIVA. I never learned an instrument, but I always had a passion for music. Music is more than just melodies to me. It is shape-shifting and transformation, but also emotion. It is a story to tell, meditation and medicine to heal and recover.

Since 2010 I am part of the festival NACHTDIGITAL in Olganitz, Germany. With NACHTDIGITAL, I jumped much deeper into the wave of electronic music. In 2015 I started collecting vinyl records, loved to dig around in the world and played mixes for me with music I love – '80s & '90s House, Electronic and Techno. 

I am also part of the collective N-ICE! from Leipzig and recently of the queer collective RAWMANTIQUE from Dresden. I played at various festivals, clubs and events like FEEL FESTIVAL, Objekt Klein (Dresden), HÖR (Berlin), Westhafen (Leipzig), Sektor Evolution (Dresden), TBA (Dresden), just to name a few. 

Music for everyone, around the world connects us with our souls. That is what music creates for me as well. I love it with all my heart."

The newest addition in the AstroFM guestmix-series is from Vilnius, Lithuania based Justautas, who's been a key figure in the vibrant scene of the city's legendary Opium Club. In an earlier talk, Justautas pointed us towards his mix series "Camel Ride" for his event series at Opium Club. It's filled with great mixes and interviews with artists who breathe music through a multicultural yet electronic prism. And that's exactly what this mix is about. Let Justautas take you on a camel ride through the electronic desert for an hour sharp!

For the debut digital EP on Viscera Transmissions, Komodo spreads his wings and takes his signature low slung psychedelica to the stars, to reap destruction on extraterrestrial dancefloors across the cosmos.

Title track Mirror Claws begins an ember in the desert, slowly stoked by guitar chord stabs and eerie screeches towards a slow yet inevitable psychedelic inferno.

For Night Crawler, the guitar steps back into co-pilot role as the acid bass takes the saddle, spurring the squelch dragon off into the void with a crack of the 303 whip.

Next up is Vanquished Angst with a dubby desert rock workout. Blazing guitar solos tear across the sky like thunderbolts whilst the hypnotic bassline and guitar progression burn through the dunes.

On the flip, Jonny Rock re-dubs the dub with his Vanquished Angst Dragon Remix. No slightly questionable guitar metaphors here, instead, a mind melting whirlpool of spiraling percussion, vocal quips, bass throbs and pads form a completely bonkers but brilliant piece.

Last but certainly not least, Chez de Milo arms Night Crawler with some serious ordnance. After changing up the beat pattern with a breaksy kick, electro warheads are ago, clearing the way for the original 303 line to cruise through. Heavy!

With individuality and experimentation at her core, Ellie Stokes is very much her own DJ. Having immersed herself in Bristol’s music scene since arriving in the late 00s, she could reasonably be considered a product of the city’s unique creative culture. Let’s sidestep tired ideas about trip hop and D&B for a second and focus on the West Country capital as a hotbed of broadminded experimentation, with a community ethos and supportive framework that encourages talent to shine through. 

Stokes was already working within the music industry when she started to channel her passion into DJing – she was working at vital independent venue The Love Inn, one of the hubs of Bristol’s underground music culture, where she’s now the booking agent and venue manager. When the female / nonbinary Mix Nights DJ course began (helmed by leading lights such as Danielle and Daisy Moon), Stokes found the right nurturing environment to discover her instinct for selecting and spinning, initiating a career which has grown exponentially ever since. In 2018 she became a resident at Bristol’s leading club space Motion, and played life-affirming slots at premier league events and spaces such as Glastonbury, Love International, Warehouse Project, Love Saves The Day, Corsica Studios and Simple Things. 

As well as her dancefloor presence, where she’s likely to be plying leftfield house and techno tinged with industrial and 90s motifs, Stokes has a regular radio outlet via Bristol’s leading station, Noods. It’s on these shows her tastes truly open up, touching on ambient techno and electronica, all manner of wave-related sonics, EBM and much more besides. It’s a non-conformist style that favours individual expression over generic consistency, championing the omnivorous spirit of the times and presenting selections that feel honest, heartfelt and constantly surprising. 

Stokes’ musical endeavours reach beyond her DJing too – she also helps steer the city’s much-loved queer dance party Bitch, Please! and came on board as a partner in Futureboogie, which will soon branch out into a new label project in the near future. Her keen ear for the unusual and distinctive shine through in these ventures as much as when she’s on the decks, rounding out her positive contributions to all corners of the music scene in Bristol and beyond. She may be representative of the city as it stands right now, but Ellie Stokes is just as much her own vital energy in a tangled network of scenes, communities, parties and platforms that stretches out internationally.
