into his sonic space with synthy-sounds and warm playful beats. 

Witney has a laid-back delivery with a soul voice that has been infused
with world spice from extensive studies and performances in Brazil,
indeed his forthcoming album was partially recorded in Brazil with some
of the finest alumni of Brazil samba cross-over traditions, and although
musically cannot be pinpointed as specifically Brazilian, the the attitude
of 1970’s Brazil is all over it, beachy, sensual, laid-back and sexy. 

With a percentage of profits from sales going towards the buying up and
protecting of the Daintree rainforest through the Half-Cut cause, this is
the groovy earth-lovin’ feel-good song you need to sway your hips to.

A track birthed from a moment of inner and collective chaos, atop one of my favourite mountains, questioning everything.

In moments of uncertainty, I have received the wisdom from my elders to give up all my questioning and confusion, to surrender it to the higher power, to the source of creation and heart of Gaia. 

In that surrender I have been guided to give my song and service back to the earth, her waters and peoples, to give thanks for the sun and the simple things in life, to listen deeply to the call of the natural world. 

We are gonna make it through. It's what we do.

Three songs that capture my most recent adventure. 

Migration (Hijra)

Brandy and Havana Blues is more than just a song — it’s a tribute, a farewell, and a final gift from a son to his father.

The lyrics were discovered just weeks after my dad passed, handwritten words he’d penned years ago, quietly tucked away. Though I’d known he’d written lyrics before, I never truly understood the depth of what he was expressing. It wasn’t until after he was gone that I felt the weight and beauty of his words.

Determined to honour him, I gathered a group of incredibly talented musicians to bring the song to life. With only a small window of time coinciding with my Uncle Richard (Dad’s brother and a seasoned musician) visiting from overseas we managed to pull together a studio session in what felt like the most meaningful kind of chaos.

What unfolded in that session was nothing short of magical. The music for Brandy and Havana Blues was created collaboratively, in real time, with every musician bringing their full heart and creative voice to the table. It wasn’t a case of one person leading, this was a truly collective effort. Each note, each rhythm, each arrangement choice came from shared instincts, raw emotion, and deep mutual respect. The song was essentially written in that one studio session a testament to the chemistry, talent, and soul of everyone involved. It simply couldn’t have happened without each and every one of them.

The result is a soulful, blues-inspired track that carries the emotional gravity of grief, love, legacy, and music passed down through generations. It’s infused with the spirit of the man who wrote the words, and the love of the people who made them sing.

Here is my set from the Market stage Friday afternoon 4:30-6pm at Rainbow Serpent Festival 2018. 

The weather really showed its true colors that day and i feel really blessed to have been apart of mother nature's plans to make the experience what it was. A massive thank you to everyone of my friends and extended family for being there, it means the world to me. It was the most special experience to not only play on that stage but having everybody dancing their assess off in that torrential rain & not leaving was cool as fuck! Its was just so crazy!
