Yesterday, I by chance ran into a man who was about to take his own life by jumping off a bridge. As I passed him it seemed odd that he just left his bicycle on the ground. When I turned back, I saw him climb over the railing like height was not a concern. It was weird to see that, how easy he made it look to just dangle off a bridge. He had just been through a divorce and lost his job. He had kids. I talked to him about my own experience with suicide and he climbed back onto the bridge and started crying. People just walked by like nothing was happening. Yesterday I finished this song. I know it might not mean much, but I dedicate this song to that man and everyone who has been touched by suicide. This song will always remind me of that moment on the bridge.
