The Only Cure Is Time

A song about redemption after loss written for my friend Brenda back in 2006 and recorded at Jocko Valley Sounds (now Studio Z) by the Levitators. She had lost her son a year earlier to a drug overdose and was struggling. It relates to so many things that we all face but this one is for Brenda.

So Hard To Let It Go

Every year a group of guys from all over the country get together and camp on the Jefferson River. It is a week of Fishing, Golf and Poker but even more so, a week of comradery with a great group of men. 

This was my 24th year. Every year I sit on this bench by the river which is nothing less than the perfect backdrop to play my guitar. It was on this bench that I return to each year that I wrote this song. 

The Jefferson River, along with the Madison River and the Gallatin River form the Missouri River (North America's longest). The confluence is at Three Forks, 50 miles downstream from here.The Jefferson River Song is a nice song about a nice place.

Bassist Dave DeBruin sings this fabulous Blake Driver song. Curtis Rathburn on mandolin and me on guitar and Bruce Wetherby on the drums.

Livin' With The Bottle

I wrote this song back in 2005, in Elvis Presly's hometown of Tupelo Mississippi, after spending the day touring Highway 61, the "Blues Highway". I would say it was heavily influenced by both. This was off of Mudfoot and the DIrty Soles self titled studio album, which was produced by Lead Guitarist Curtis Rathburn. Dave DeBruin on Bass, Bruce Wetherby on Drums and me on the Slide Guitar.

Before The Rising Son

When blue is not enough...you get more blue until you have maxed it out. I did everything on this track mostly because I was available when I needed me. It is the first live drum track of mine that I recorded. I thought I finished this song 6 months ago but I kept hearing a simple organ part in my head and I knew it wouldn't go away, so I finally taught it to myself and then played and with the recorder running until I got it right.

Bluer Than The Bluest Blue

I wrote this song about 12 years ago for my child who is now an adult. We traveled different journeys but both seem to be headed in the same direction, back to a point where we can both "Dream Big". I have come to realize that there are many that this song applies to.

I have been writing songs for many years. I have recorded many of them and appreciate your interest in hearing them. I love music, It is the unfinished business of my life. Some of these were recorded with my bands or members thereof, the Levitators, and Mudfoot and the Dirty Soles, some with friends, and some by myself.  Enjoy the tunes.
