The concept for this mix has been present with me for some time now and I finally felt like I had the right material to make it happen. It is very slow and spacious, builds throughout and then slows down at the end. This set is similar to my Heart Culture set because it is all woven together using the loops that come from the respective tracks rather than just mixing the pre-arranged tracks with each other. I created this mix in my final days of this most recent retreat of 2 months with the intention of channeling some of the energy I cultivated there. I have recently revisited the book "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle which had a major impact on me years ago when I first read it. Again it touched me deeply and so I have woven in some clips from the audio book.

All the tracks are remixes and so collaborations with various friends which also helps to bring in a nice variety of sounds and energies. A few of these are still unreleased and not in any of my other mixes - hope you enjoy them.

Konstantin LIVE Dark Jungle March 7th 2020

It's as if you just stumbled across an extravagant, lush, dense jungle celebration with noises you've never heard before coming from within...You enter to find something rare. An intentional event filled with like-minded people and smiling faces...this new, different, and something special. Of course, there's house music. 

Being invited to DJ Dark Jungle was an honor, and especially fun to be alongside good friends, Blake, Clint, and Konstantin. This gig was an opportunity to really explore the depths of Hot Dad and removed the artistic barriers or restrictions that can come along with certain gigs. Creating space and a story arch that evoked memories or new thoughts while immersed in audio was quite the journey. 

Each event has its quirks; things can always go awry. This recording is far from perfect. Technical difficulties arose, equipment malfunctions, left/right cut outs, some sloppy beat matching. Things aren't perfect, and we learn! Now go jam.

This set has been specifically recorded for the Casa del Soul, November 2020 Campout. The idea was to create a soundscape and musical journey fit for yoga, stretching, meditation, and relaxation.
