Then a mellow deep bass comes in, which keeps on growing in power in the break. At the drop everything comes together, echoing plucks, the arpeggio that seems to be talking throughout the entire track and a bassline that keeps on changing and moving. Djuma Soundsystem is back with his deep tribal beats, and fuses it with the dark techno sounds of New Zealands biggest pride; Out of Sorts. 
The vocals might sound oriental, but the guys seek inspiration from a different side of the world; they are actually Irish! Djuma Soundsystem has always been a fan of Out of Sorts' sound, after he made a remix of their "Box of birds" tune years back. So on his last world tour he set off some extra time in Auckland, New Zealand, to get some playing time in the Strom brothers' studio. 
Before the session the guys took Djuma up on a volcano, where there was lots of cicadas "singing" in the threes around it. They sampled the sounds, and the beats almost made it self around it when entering the studio. 
The track has been proper road tested by Djuma Soundsystem on two full world tours after that - in every continent of the world. He says; "I have great expectations to this track, after being asked "what is that track?" close to every time I've dropped it".

German duo Monkey Safari make a rare step away from their own Hommage label for a stunning debut on Get Physical Music.

For the best part of the last decade now, Lars Rühlemann and Sven Fröhlich aka Monkey Safari have been serving up a quirky and curious take on house music that has brought real character to the dance floor. They have put out three absorbing full lengths as well as almost thirty EPs, and have made their Hommage label a vital one in the process. Here they open their debut with the excellent ‘Mantra,’ a propulsive house track with humid, jungle-like atmospheres, woodblock hits and elastic bass that really builds the pressure. It’s a warm and absorbing affair brimming with charm. 

Today's premiere, the hypnotic ‘Tollo’, then establishes another enchanting groove, this time with spoken word vocals intoxicating you further as the rubbery drums and soft, fat hits get you deeper into the groove.

Ukrainean talent AIKON is back on Exploited Ghetto following last summer’s brilliant ‘Saturn’ release’, showing us more of his magical skills that have also landed him on other leading labels like Disco Halal and Sol Selectas.

Plodding acidic tones mark out a groove as lo-fi claps and shimmering shakers create a propulsive percussive groove. Nagging monotone synth stabs rise up as the indecipherable, mystical vocal wraps its way around the track. Subtle, ominous bass hovers beneath. Slow-burning melodies play out while snatches of indigenous flutes and tribal drums tickle the surface of the track. A deep, hypnotic breakdown takes us into an introspective place as the heavenly vocals soar higher. It’s hugely satisfying when the beat, bass and stabs drop back in, but there’s no explosion of intensity; just more of that gradually building heat, like a mouthful of chilli that creeps up on you. A twanging rhythmic line is the final addition, warping the track further into haziness.
