Hubryis - Harmonic Conjunction

ONE - The status quo breaks. New boundaries are formed. There is no more of what we used to call „Normalzustand" [engl. „normality"]. The definition itself changes.

TWO - A new entity spreads - from nothingness to Something Else. 

THREE - Atoms form, sparks fly, branches of chains Connect. 

FOUR - Either the process of birth or rebirth occurs - simultaneously for an uncountable number of elements. It's hard to make out which came first.

FIVE - Sapiens sapiens find themselves Naked on a blue ball, filled with water, hovering through space. Weird right? But don't overthink it.

SIX - Apes in suites are blinded by the vastness of the universe, and enchanted by the beauty of Venus and Mars. Seems like there's more out there…

SEVEN - A tribe of dance monkeys discovers, that it's generally much more fun to move the after hour before the end of the world. They find joy and unity, dancing to the Gebrömmel [engl. ≈„humming"] of life.

The clock stroke ZEHN - and time stood still for a part, a fraction, an element of a second. Only a few know what really happened. Everyone felt it, though.

The latest release from Tash's Movement Limited welcomes Kris Dur to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Mexico, Kris Dur has been a fixture of his country's nightlife for the better part of two decades. As a DJ first, Kris has been honing his skills at some of Mexico's trendiest venues, oftentimes blurring the lines between progressive, organic and melodic house. Also a producer, the Mexico City resident emerged in 2022 with a contribution to 3rd Avenue's popular 'We Are the Future' series, before going on to record projects for Freegrant Music, The Soundgarden and his own Join The Culture imprint, in turn earning support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada and Marcelo Vasami. No stranger to the Movement family, Kris would make his Movement Recordings debut last year alongside Chilean producer Tomas Pablo, as the duo delivered a standout remix of 'The Jungle' by Taylan. Now, making his much anticipated debut on Movement's Limited division, Kris delivers a two-track showcase entitled 'Proud Harmony'.

Beginning with the title selection Kris finds a perfect balance between groove and melody. Complete with deep and melancholic vibes, the Mexico City resident crafts an engaging top line to flutter and shift atop a sturdy foundation of punchy kick drums and voluptuous basslines. Fragmented vocals and dubbed out chord stabs further the track's rhythmic inflection, eventually giving way to a finale of mesmerizing melodic progression.

Rounding out the release are the smooth hypnotic qualities of 'Copal'. Warm, spacious and flowing with a freeform sense, the track's first movement is built around a chunky groove, spacey synth mutations and precise percussive arrangements, the latter of which carries a hip-swinging energy into the main break. Kris' creative attitude shines across the interlude, with gentle melodies creating a sense of space and calm, as percussion reassembles towards a dynamic drum fill and suitably groovy finale to cap off the EP in style.

Esigia has been years in the making, and we believe the outcome justifies the wait. Back in the start of 2016 the trio made quite a ruckus, bringing a new sound out of Africa, to the global scene. A raw Afro beat, mixed with synths and Ghanaian vocals. On "Esigia", Djuma Soundsystem envisioned blending the distinct sounds of the Ghanaian kologo, a home made two string instrument, with classic Chicago house. He invited one of Ghana's foremost kologo talents, King Ayisoba, and his band for a jam, and the result was vocal calls and responses that effortlessly intertwine with deep house synth lines and King's kologo, bridging organic percussion with electronic manipulation. The remix pack is second to none, kicking off with Swiss maestro Kellerkind's smooth deep approach, adding his own signature groove. Kintar transports the track to another realm, introducing playful pianos and guitars to dance atop of a deep beat, taking all listeners on a surprising turn in a jazzy break. Finally, we introduce our in-house talent Ruskar, Brazil's youngest Afro house sensation, with his distinctive sound that never fails to ignite the dancefloor.
