Following releases on Prins Thomas’ labels Full Pupp & Rett I Fletta and the seductive ‘Me To You’ on Eskimo Recordings at the end of last year, ‘Find My Love’ marks the return of Oslo-based production pair Trulz & Robin to our beloved label. ‘Find My Love’ features the vocal funk from the renowned Ost from diynamic duo Ost & Kjex. It‘s another quality example of the exciting things that are happening in the Norwegian club scene nowadays. The uplifting original comes with a darkly sensual, slow-burning groovy remix by Israeli-born, Berlin-based producer Moscoman. Still looking.. 

‘Find My Love’ will feature on The Orange Collection, the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours.

This EP is about a whole year of self discovery, trying to create different kinds of music and having fun figuring it all out. I call this EP Portfolio as it is a mix of all the different inspiration i had throughout the year, going from Folk Music to hiphop jazz beats, back into rocky laid back vibes. I feel their isn't one defining Genre of music in there. They are a few and it is all mixed together. Representing all the different musical journeys i had. 

Everything was done in my bedroom, recorded and mixed by me.

Surely like many, we were first introduced to this soul classic when Dr. Dre sampled the opening guitar- and humming part for No Diggity. With mr. Withers’ recent passing in mind, we thought we’d re-explore the original as a tribute to his timeless legacy. This quarantined Sunday provided the sunny but nostalgic mood, complete with added birdsongs recorded from a Brussels terrace.

Not the easiest challenge to remix a cowboy country anthem, but the aimlessness (sic.) of the song seemed appropriate for the times. End result is an housey track that could only be complimented by the desert adventures of @horseshoeband , in some long lost time where roaming freely on horseback was still a lawful extravagance

week 4: balthazar - last call


’Twas time to focus on our musical heroes @balthazarband this week. Some who have seen us live recently may recognise the vocal melody at the end of the track which runs as a sample in our song “maze”. Last call has always been one of our favorites and it was a pleasure to rework it, TTstyle. For the video, the ladies from โรงเรียนสอนเต้นบรูจส์ were kind enough to send us some workout tips to try out in quarantine; thanks to them!

Across the ‘Street Rave EP’ McVicar marries Chicago inflected raw house sounds with an unmistakable UK rave slant throughout. From the buoyant combination of undulating bass and a rich palette of synths, stabs and vocal drops, the title track is just under six minutes of earworming hooks. ‘Dorian’ is a tougher, more clipped affair with a stomping, acid-inflected groove doing the work while closing track sees McVicar team up with fellow Scot Roose for a no-holds-barred workout which fuse 4:4 UK hardcore to a rock-solid house beat.
