I recently read the beginning of the great story - BFG to my 3 year old - this moment always sticks in my mind - the moment where a shocked Sophie spies the mysterious actions of a giant person across the street. She later finds out that this giant is a gentle and kind soul who catches beautiful dreams and blows them into peoples rooms at night...........this track is about that moment where she first sees the giant........an imagined soundtrack.....

The ' no fear' is the reversed  sound of 'everyone'  - which makes perfect sense in a way - the word somehow containing what is right now an important message in these times where our values for each other are being tested in such horrible ways ........I just thought it has something of Where is Yesterday? about it lyrically(by The United States of America, 1969), which for me is also a huge, very important influence...and like in the late 60s, the message seemed important for the feel of the times where things spiral out of control seemingly........... these kinds of message are important for people to hear......this hopefully is a little bit of sunshine on a rainy day musically for some people. Yes I am hugely influenced by psychedelic rock and also likes of Ravi Shankar and Yann Tiersen, but for me the journey here contains fragments of a much needed hopeful message.....all the stronger for the minimal and straight forward approach of the lyric against the layering motif......ergo I intend no bullshit ....apart from the word ergo of course....A tune Id written when I got my first mini casio at the age of 9 - it used to have really cheesy lyrics in time with tune- here they are

Hardly that poetically advanced  -but maybe 9 year old innocence does not need over embelished prose -I stripped them down to just the title and really tried to create a textural journey with the the sound 'palindrome'.
This has meant something to me for over 25 years . Sometimes less is more....so I will stop talkin....

Originally from the 2009 album, Mirrors Of The Speaker (where alot of the samples for this album come from), this track 'Reflection' has been beautifully remixed for this record using much more layers than the original and a tiny fab sample taken from the bluesy/soul magic drumming of Georgeous George. For me a perfect Zeitghoul sandwich of sound heaven.

Some samples taken from an experimental remix of my music done for me by soundcloud artist Ankea several years ago. I enjoyed passing tracks back and forth and finding new sounds. So thank you to that artist.

Also see video on you tube....I make alot of fave film and artist references...but also kind of tell a story......this manifestation of Zeitghoul after all is ultimately a form of Pop Art.

Because my computer has broken recently I feel something has stepped in to let me to let go of this music, resulting in a mostly instrumental but evocative collection of original medidative fugue sometimes folky ambient electronic soundscapes.........as ever Im just making the music I want to hear as best I can.........The picture is is by one of my fave artists, Anselm Kiefer........

Inspired at first by the idea / dream / cycle of music being signposts in time.....like AD or BC.....I wrote a poem about this....of the same name......hence the title......... For me one of those albums was Radiohead's Ok COmputer - the other was Paranoid by Black Sabbath.........maybe the album is a different one for you.....anyway this EP is mostly instrumental...but I will mix the song version of all the tracks sometime.....so you can here the words.....for now, hope you like some of these sounds..........

I wrote the original Lemon Tree Poem in dedication to the human beings living refugee camps in the Middle East - One refugee camp, Zaatari, has now become a town, and in that town is a man who has tried to recreate his garden from home, and in that garden in the middle of the desert is his Lemon Tree. Life has to find a way....civilization grows has to find a way...........this is my surreal zeitghouly, hope I dont sound too silly, way of expressing my admiration for these people....these true survivors who are trying their hardest every day to rebuild and remember their lives so that they can feel they have a community to be proud of........

The title once more comes from my recent writings - The Ideas of Others is one of my many references / dedications to things which pop up in my work which I enjoy identifying sometimes - and in hindsight i think might influence my own sound - in this case the likes of Portishead sprang to mind when I finished editing this track - and as a Bristol born sound engineer I thought it right on this occassion to point out how important my birth place and things going on there have been to me even though I have not lived there in a long time........
this opener to my latest record sets the mood but like each track on their own has its own twisted, unique zeitghouly experimental merits -

This is one of my fave sections of the latest record - a lot of the acoustic riffs on Haunted By Spirals were instinctual, but later were used to compose more structured soundscapes - this track from the ending soundscape of the album, contains elements of riffs Id been playing with three strings for several years at the time.....alot of the riffs are like familiar spirits to me.....and they sometimes pop up in my playing for a chat.......

This track is on one of my played often personal guitar riffs - Drama Creep - sped up and chopped and reformed several times over the last decade - it's newest form very much capturing the 'zeit' of the Zeitghoul. The centre track on the record, I think for a lo fi doodle like usual it captures some kind of filmic atmospheric form, just what exactly it is that I love about these textures remains a mystery, but its there quite strongly here.... Having recently met some members of the band who inspired alot of my earlier more folky musical experiments, years later I can hear their influence, but also a fully formed strongly experimental personal identity with sound....
