Paperfunk Recordings has always respected — and will continue to respect — the technoid and techno-DnB sound, and we've always strived to contribute as a label to the development of this branch of Drum & Bass.

While techno-DnB emerged back in the early 2000s alongside titanic subgenres like neurofunk and techstep, technoid drum and bass was born under far more intricate and subtle circumstances. The rise of the technoid subgenre is directly tied to a particular group of artists and their unique sonic influence during the years 2007 to 2011.

Its peak — the true triumph of technoid — was in 2008, right at the center of this period. That was the golden age of the subgenre we love, when labels like Offkey, Sinuous, and many others were putting out astonishingly heavy releases with utterly mad and unpredictable sound design.

We’re bringing that tradition back. We’re reviving the raw power and chaos of technoid and techno-DnB — and with great pride, we present to you our new compilation: TECHNOID: GREATEST COMEBACK VOL. 1

This series will feature works by artists who embody the very essence of why these subgenres continue to captivate us.
