Born in Poland and currently based in Berlin, Agata is a versatile DJ and producer with a preference for dark and driving, trance-infused techno. The former singer and songwriter loves to get inspired all over music genres and has a soft spot for catchy melodies you can often find in her sets. She has a number of performances at Berlin techno institutions, such as @hoer.berlin or @about.blank.berlin to her credit.

Driving bassline, fast paced grooves, trancy textures. This mix brings a blend of progressive and hard techno that will energize you for the rest of the week.

We are happy to present you a multi-facetted and multi-talented artist today, Anna Z! Very early she started taking several art courses, while she enjoyed an education that was specialized on mathematics and physics. She gained a deeper insight into the world of sound, frequencies and music in the most intimate way by learning several instruments with a focus on guitar.
After her graphic design studies, during which she focused more on her artistic skills and learned to work with several programs from editing software to complex 3d modeling and programming, she worked as a designer and illustrator for several years. 
Anna moved to Berlin in 2012 and started studying architecture at the University of Arts Berlin (Universität der Künste Berlin). She soon got into contact with the Berlin electronic music culture, especially with the modular synth scene and started designing and manufacturing some of her own musical gear. 2015 ANNA Z started to work with the visual guidance of the WERK crew and their events. She soon became a part of the operating crew and record label (with J.Manuel). 
Her art comes from the most different experiments, including, programming, hardware, drawing, photographies, oil and acrylic painting, all this with the music in mind. Besides experimenting with the following programs: quartz composer, max, processing, grasshopper, adobe programs, ableton live. She started making music on her own. Working with Reaktor and Cycling 74, she is creating her own instruments.
Her graphics became the face of WERK and the project today and now it would be inconceivable without her work. In July 2018 Anna had a first official music live experience with modular synth live jam together with J.Manuel at //: about blank.

BCCO Podcast 241: Anna Z

Berlin based, italian dj and producer with strong passion for analogue instruments, founder of the label Ipnotica Erotica. After experiencing the last years of the flourishing rave scene in Rome and accomplishing a degree in sound engineering her creative process evolved into different directions from club music, to performance art and electro acoustics. In 2013 she released her first digital EP followed by releases on Love Blast, KKY, MinimalRome, DelirioRec, Undersound Rec and more. In her own world music is a continuous dialogue between styles and hybridization. Her music productions as well her live performances include synth, drum machines and analogue effects reflecting her ethereal trajectory while her dj sets show the full prism of her music taste and knowledge of the dance floor. Key Clef sound doesn’t hit the surface but instead aims to channel emotions and contact between her music and the audience. In 2020 she founded ACXS, a community of artists with a common profit through sale of samplepacks created using instruments provided by partnerships with professional audio equipment brands. The roster of this project includes artists such as Alessandro Adriani, Silent Servant, Neel, The Lady machine, and many more.

IN MUSIC, THE ACT OF IMPROVISATION CAPTURES THE MOMENT IN WHICH THE ACTION TAKES PLACE. THIS ACTION TAKES PLACE IN CORRELATION WITH THE OUTSIDE IN RELATION TO THE PERFORMER, SO THAT IT CAN BECOME A COLLECTIVE REALITY, WHICH TAKES PLACE IN SHARING BETWEEN THE PARTICIPANTS. IT OCCURS NOW AND CANNOT REPEAT ITSELF IN THE SAME WAY BECAUSE IT IS LINKED TO THE MOMENT IN WHICH IT OCCURS AND TO ITS PARTICIPANTS. IT WILL LATER TAKE A DIFFERENT FORM, DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION, ALTHOUGH ITS STRUCTURE WILL REMAIN THE SAME. HOW THE INDIVIDUAL PERCEPTION OF REALITY.
