REGION 5 is an original rap group from Juneau, Alaska, focused around a duo: Radiophonic Jazz. This is the collaboration between Radiophonic Oddity (Chris) and Air Jazz (Arias). JML is a fellow producer alongside these two, who dabbles in his own music such as metal and drumming.

Radiophonic Jazz is heavily influenced by 80s and 90s legends such as Nas, 2pac, Biggie,  Big L, Big Pun, DJ Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, and Grand Master Caz. Even still, they stay updated to recent hiphop status by releasing songs under their own style of production. 

This is called "Zen Hop"; an oriental instrumentation thrown over boom bap drums, meant to let the listener meditate and follow along with their lyricism.
