Due to the fact that society views gender as a binary concept, a lot of people have felt over the years that they need to be either one gender or the other. It has only been in recent years that a new term “Gender Fluid” has begun to be used. Gender fluid people feel that they are neither male nor female, but rather somewhere in between.
There were many times when I thought I had to be one or the other. But there was no law I had to abide by written or unwritten. I began to think to myself “maybe I’m just somewhere in between male and female?”
"Chimera" is about being in between genders, and about being in between fitting in and not fitting into society.

We're All Chasing Something

The Universe is so vast that no one even knows how big it actually is, because no telescope is powerful enough to see the edges of the Universe. There's a fair chance that it doesn't even have edges...

Compared to how big the Universe is our whole planet is the tiniest, most minute, most insignificant spec in comparison.

Many scientists believe that out planet is about 4 billion years old and no one really has a clue how old the Universe actually is.

Compared to the amount of time there has ever been the length of our lifetimes is a tiny, minute, insignificant amount of time.

How many people get remembered 50 years after they've died...? How many people are remembered 100 years after they've died? Do you remember your great grand parents? Your great great grandparents?

How much of what we do in our lives really matters in the grand scheme of things?

We're only here for a short while, so is there any point spending the short time we have in our lives, on this planet, being upset? 

I especially don't think there's any reason to be upset about trivial things...?

...and in a way everything can be seen as trivial. Existence can be seen as trivial.

If you're feeling upset about something right now, I want you to stop and think would I be upset about what I'm feeling upset about if I was going to die today?

Life's too short to spend it being upset. Allow yourself to be happy as you can be, as often as you can be.

That doesn't mean you should find happiness in harming other people or animals, or do things that will harm the very small oasis that we call planet earth.

But we're all lucky to be alive, so we might as well enjoy our lives. We might as well celebrate being alive.
