Simon Doty is one of the fastest rising stars in Electronic music. Simon was one of Beatport’s top 100 charting artists of the year in House and Tech House for 2014. During this time he had multiple Beatport top 10’s , released on some of the world’s most established labels such as Toolroom, Spinnin and 1605 and collaborated with artists like Umek, Olivier Giacomotto, Prok and Fitch, John Acquaviva to name a few. 

2015 has seen a change of direction for Simon, focusing on a more melodic, techno sound. This new signature sound from Simon has already been played and supported by names like Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Solomun, Maceo Plex, Nick Warren, Adriatique, Eelke Kleijn, Agoria, and Agents of Time to name a few. 

Simon recently launched his new label and brand, Rhetorical, which will focus on bringing forward thinking House, Techno and Progressive music to North America in a new way. With Vince Watson, Petar Dundov, Ramon Tapia, and Diynamic’s rising star Sevendoors already confirmed on the release schedule, Rhetorical will certainly be a label to watch for 2016 and beyond. 

To close out 2016, Simon will have a release on established Berlin label “Einmusika Recordings” and the release has already received play from some of the most established artists in the world.

Mit der dritten Ausgabe meiner kleinen LIVE-Session-Serie hat sich wieder ein Sound-Nerd aus Zürich an die Geräte begeben. Mit Klang Allianz habe ich nun schon das dritte LIVE-Set aus dem Züricher Raum … irgendwie muss da glaube ich ein Nest sein.

Aufgewachsen ist Simon Häberling in der Nähe von Zürich und kam dort mit so fantastischen Clubs wie dem legendären Rohstofflager mit Techno in Berührung. Die Tatsache, dass ein hohes Maß an technischem Know-How doch sehr hilfreich sein kann um gute elektronische Musik zu produzieren,  brachte ihn dazu mit ein paar Freunden ein Musikstudio in Zürich zu bauen. Quasi einen Raum wo man seiner kreativen musikalischen Leidenschaft freien Lauf lassen kann.

Simons größte Leidenschaft ist es Techno Live zu spielen. So hat er in den letzten Jahren mehr als hundert Live—Gigs überall in der Schweiz und Deutschland gespielt, sowohl als Klang Allianz oder im Duo als Bassliebhaber. Außerdem entstanden im letzten Jahr einige Kooperationen mit anderen Live-Spezialisten wie meinem besonderen Freunde Lubømir. Danke an Randolph an dieser Stelle das du den Kontakt geknüpft hast. 

Neben der Live-Performance hat Klang Allianz aber auch schon die ein oder andere EP und Remixe veröffentlicht, unter anderem auf Tonspur Records. Seine aktuelle EP Faulty Operation die auf dem Label Unalike Music erschienen ist, wurde natürlich auch passend in diesem Live-Set in Szene gesetzt.

Simon und ich hatten sofort einen guten Draht beim Chatten, da wir dieselbe Leidenschaft für die elektronische Musik und die Art und Weise diese zu präsentieren aufbringen. Er hatte dann auf meine Anfrage für ein Live-Set auch sofort zugesagt und ich bin super Happy euch heute dieses umwerfende Set zu präsentieren. Simon tausend Dank für deine Mühe die du hier reingesteckt hast.
