Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas drops an enchanting Afro house EP by ARKADYAN, which also features remixes by Safar (FR) and Manoo.

ARKADYAN are a talented trio who have previously featured their tribal rhythms and ancestral instruments on other imprints ranging from Cosmic Awakenings to Madorasindahouse Records, and their music has been popular with DJs such as Black Coffee, Bedouin, Satori, Blond:ish and many others of equal note.

Safar (FR) is a French artist who recently debuted on Sol Selectas with a track on the label’s Summer Sol VII compilation with a scorching hot vibe, and this remix once again shows off his talents.

Manoo is from the city of Lyon in France and he is well-known for his productions on Innervisions, Compost and Classic Music Company. His style is a jazzy blend with deep atmosphere and groovy basslines.

“Tulila” is the solo original on the release and it features the vocals of Moroccan artist Radouan Naim who also played the guembri instrument that’s used in the track. The lyrics are sung in the Berber language and are accompanied by tense pads, vibrant percussion and dramatic chords.

Safar (FR) provides a refined remix that’s true to the original with its chopped-up vocals and flowing tribal rhythms that are both crisp and hypnotic.

Closing out the release is the remix by Manoo that adds a new bassline with extra energy while also drawing attention to the percussion to focus on the tribal rhythms of the congas and other percussion.

The artwork by Helia Jamali depicts the golden spiral of life & the harmonic dance of the universe.

Ian Ludvig is a Spanish DJ, producer, and composer who has previously released on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, Connected, and Moblack amongst others, collaborating with the likes of Dennis Cruz since his debut release in 2015. Now arriving on Bedouin’s Human By Default for the first time, Ludvig brings three emotive and cinematic house cuts to the label.

Leading the release, the title track ‘Like A Drug’ brings gentle chord progressions, evolving synths, and rolling drums together under soaring vocals for a contemplative start to the release. ‘Chaos’ follows with dense atmospherics and clattering percussion for a heavy, chugging affair, before ‘Fear’ closes the release, initially maintaining the tension with a heady intro before opening into a gorgeous section of floating pads and additional vocals.

Amour Propre brings us a melodic mix of afro and organic house tracks, with 'Wait for me' EP. The original of this track, which gives the title to the EP, is a nice creation between afro and organic house, and enchants with the clean sweet melodies that come out quite early and give the strong character of this piece. @dsf-greece, on remix duty for this track, introduces a distinct captivating rhythm, and goes deep into the afro spirit. As the track evolves, DSF does his magic with its harmonies becoming more intense and chords leading the way. The other remixer for this great EP is Stephane Salerno, who offers yet another interesting interpretation for this piece, on the organic side. He introduces new instruments, for a deep and atmospheric experience, and a strong beat. 'Mystic Tribe', the second track of this EP starts with a strong afro rhythm which sets the tone, but it continues with mellow piano chords and an alluring vocal. Enjoy this September release!
