We are happy to introduce Son Objet and Smetana for no less than edition no. 30 – cheers! 🥂

SMETANA (@smetana-berlin) is rippling through Berlins' subcultural periphery with her bold explorations of sounds and sensations along the spectrum of pop, folk, rock and rave that seek to reach beyond the boundaries of conformity and uncompromisingly celebrate freedom of mind and heart. 

Following her invitation is SON OBJET (@son-objet), a visual artist from Porto whose work resides in the fields of archive and appropriation. This time, her artistic exploration extends to music, where she engages in researching and selecting bizarre and cosmic ideas along a chronological path. Within this journey, different rhythmic and energetic states meander, alluding to a kind of mnemonic language.

ZEPTER 30 - Smetana & Son Objet - 26/08/23

For our 31st edition, Dima Verstraete ( @argonaut_s ) and LVRIN ( @lvrin-1 ) created yet another entry of eclectic specialities.

Dima Verstraete, joining us from Tashkent, has been actively digging and producing music for a long time and, known by his monikers Region Salvaje or Jan Fietser, presents us a mixture of psychedelic freakout and truly heartfelt pieces for the first hour. 

LVRIN, or Golden Axe, is following his call for the second part, diving deep into electronic and hypnotic sounds that capture bold, pioneering spirits of DIY sonic explorations. LVRIN is also responsible for some hefty releases on @pinkmanrecords and käfTen that continuously twist the minds of ecstatic basement regulars in a similar enchanting fashion.

Prepare for a two-hour ride of transitions from late-summer longing to autumn introspections.

ZEPTER 31 - Dima Verstraete & LVRIN - 30/09/23

For Episode No. 32, we are thrilled to present none other than DJ Peacock and Ahmed.sky. 

DJ Peacock, aka Pieter Kock, is a driving force behind Berlin’s legendary Otannenbaum, a place for true music lovers to hang out, come together and celebrate. Also, being a gifted musician, he has produced several masterpieces that do not shy away from bending styles and conventions. His latest albums on the R.i.O. and Moonwalk labels prove the case in point.

Joining him for our show is Ahmed.sky. Part of the Paris-based collective Soucoupe, which hosts the fantastic show Strange How You Move on DIA! Radio. A true seeker of obscure sounds full of quirkiness, heartwarming folklore and tape hiss. His recording certainly reflects what we call a holistic trip!

New year, new faces! We are happy to present two artists from the mysterious mountains of Alto Adige. 

Growing up between ski resort, paradise and other ambivalent lived realities of South Tyrol, Simon & Bruno Banani manifest creative expressions within interstitial spaces of the regions cultural landscape. 

While Simon is expanding the cracks in the regional scene with his work on the nascent „Sottoritmi“ Event Series, Bruno Banani keeps an hermitical Appraoch with his work. 

Come and join their “Reigentanz” to celebrate the yearning for freedom of mind and heart. Immerse yourself in cheeky psychedelic strings and the romantic whisper of glacial melodies.

ZEPTER 33 - Simon & Bruno Banani - 27/01/2024

Last month’s radio show - number 34 in the series - is finally uploaded to the online archives!

This time @nikacis came to the @hallo-radio container studio on a cloudy early spring evening under an almost full moon to present a spontaneous glimpse into her aural worlds. 
With an LP o Entr’acte, several tape releases as a solo artist and in different projects, various works for film (one of which will soon be released on @futuraresistenza ) and through sound installations as well as curating nights at Golden Pudel Club and the great Papiripar festival, Nika has been exploring, creating, and sharing sound in many ways for a long time. Always experimenting and incorporating field recordings and spoken word and with a tendency towards the weird and eery, this mix is a great reflection of parts of Nika’s work and ideas. Our host @snakedance44 joined the show slightly heavy-headed but just in the right mood to continue in a matching spirit for the second hour.
