This month’s radio show celebrates the Carhartt WIP x Tresor collaboration, highlighting the historic Berlin and Detroit techno axis, also known as 030/313.

For the show, we welcome the Hamburg-based DJ @helena-hauff, who has created a mix documenting the legacy of Tresor, both as a club and record label, and its link to the roots of techno in Detroit.

Pulsing with wild melodies and rapid kicks, the mix was recorded using all vinyl, and features classics from the likes of Drexciya, Joey Beltram, and the late Silent Servant, as well as records from nascent producers such as UFO95. As ever, the mix is accompanied by an interview with Helena Hauff, who gives insights on her relation to the Tresor club and label as well as news on future projects. Helena Hauff, a former resident DJ at Hamburg's Golden Pudel Club, rose to global prominence with her 2015 album "Discreet Desires." Known for her authentic style and expertly curated DJ sets spanning acid, electro, EBM, and techno, she has headlined major festivals like Sonar and Dekmantel. Hauff’s BBC Essential Mix was named the best of 2017, and her latest album, "Qualm," continues her raw, powerful approach to music.

DJ MELL G emerged through 2020 livestreams, quickly gaining recognition. She launched JUICY GANG RECORDS in 2021 and has since toured globally, blending electro, techno, and breakbeat. Performing at top venues like fabric and Golden Pudel Club, she’s also collaborated with artists like DJ GODFATHER. Her debut LP, "ISSUES," reflects her journey and commitment to mental health awareness in the music industry.

Schooled in the sounds of Parisian institutions like Le Pulp, Batofar, and Rex Club—first as a fan, then behind the decks—French producer and DJ Eliott Litrowski has built a dynamic and light-hearted body of work that mirrors his joyful character.

Now based in Copenhagen, he balances his days as a designer with nights at local hotspots like Den Anden Side and Jolene while making waves far beyond France. His razor-sharp blends of House, electro, and Italo have taken him around the world, with tours across Asia and South America, as well as memorable Sunday parties at the legendary Concrete in Paris. A dedicated vinyl collector since his early DJing days, Eliott brings an analog warmth and deep musical knowledge to every set.

Over the years, he has played some of the best clubs in the world, including Panorama Bar and Tresor in Berlin, Mitsuki in Tokyo, Macadam in Nantes, and his beloved Rex Club in France. From early releases on Cracki to his standout Schmock EP on Moustache Records, and his recent Long Story Short EP on OOSHA—featuring electro legend DMX Krew on remix duty—he continues to carve his own path with releases on Permanent Vacation and more. His signature sound has found a home on airwaves worldwide, with appearances on Mutant Radio (Tbilisi), Rinse France, and The Lot Radio (NYC).

With Superski, his project alongside Voiski, he’s in full takeover mode following the release of their debut LP, Mondo Moderno, and an electrifying live set. In 2025, Eliott will release a new solo record on Jennifer Cardini’s own Dischi Autunno

TAMTEN, the master storyteller behind the synthesizers, extends his invitation to every curious listener to ponder the same questions that haunt him throughout his peculiar career: what impacts the sound of an era? How are we shaped by what we hear and see? Do we channel our collective feelings of longing and desire for higher purpose in accord or in opposition to major historical and political forces?

On "Wschodnia Fala: The Reimagined Vision of Eastern-European Wave Music" TAMTEN takes us on a kaleidoscopic voyage through a parallel universe where the symbols and echoes of days gone by are so much more than just archived exhibits of nostalgia. Through an array of meticulous, cut & paste rearrangements, the Warsaw-based artist manages to animate yet another fantastic world of "what could be", following his more apocalyptical take on the previous LP.

There is boldness in every aspect of the release. The saga-like story unfolds evoking the excitement of seashore autobahn ride, thrills of long-forgotten discotheque nights, rush of obsessive romance and intriguing, noir-inspired drama of introspection. The analogies between Polish wave music (with nods to Aya RL, Republika, Klaus Mittfoch, Papa Dance or even Bajm) and global disco-era top chart phenomenons like Kraftwerk, Grace Jones, Giorgio Moroder and Duran Duran, could spark hour-long musicology debates. The melodies and harmonies heard on the album resemble compositions everybody knows but also sound completely new and exhilarating, just as western music clips experienced for the first time behind the Iron Curtain and then collected compulsively on VHS tapes. The feeling of the author's frenetic attempt to capture sensations, memories, artifacts and ideas never escapes the listener till the very last minute of the recording.

"Wschodnia Fala" could pass for an eerie, anonymous late 80s lost-and-found cassette mixtape unearthed on any of the Berlin Wall's sides, if it wasn't for its crystal-clear, contemporary production value and the fluent, educated use of samples ranging from bizarre and opaque to deliberately retro-pop-influenced. Those elaborate winks of the eye for those in the know are already TAMTEN's trademark and they reflect his long-standing fascination with the dancefloor anthropology rather than just the dancefloor itself. Even though never leaning towards formulaic, easy-to-mix, club-ready stompers, his ideas are still groovy enough to make anyone move.

The album strives for some sort of unattainable totality - it’s a ticket to a seance, an experience, a rite. It is a chance to time travel and dance with your ancestors in a glass labyrinth on acid or to watch an 80s teenage adventure, coming-of-age, road cruising film in the cinema of your imagination with only a soundtrack provided. A "the best of" CD compilation of hits from a childhood we remember from a different timeline. A comic book sketch, a diary of an archivist, an elegy for the times that never were and a party you wish you could go to right now. The adventure is always different with another listen.

Truncate teams up with Chicago icon DJ Hyperactive for the ‘Trust The Process’ EP, landing on the former’s eponymous imprint this March. Crafted over the past two years in Truncate’s LA studio, the release marks the pair’s first-ever collaboration in twenty years of friendship and sees them delve deep into their decade-long wealth of knowledge of versatile House and Techno.

DJ Hyperactive and Truncate’s ‘Trust The Process’ starts with ‘Universal Function’, a no-holds-barred dance track with mind-addling loops, each sequence carefully overlapping to melt the ‘floor. The title track then strips things back a little, in which they underpin wiggy acid sounds with an effective groove before ‘Space Shuffle’ shoots for the stars with trickling synthlines and rolling rhythm. ‘Matter Of Time’ then closes out this all-purpose offering with dark, bleepy melodies laid over locked organic drums for another tasty set of cuts on the Truncate label.

Truncate, synonymous with the LA Techno scene as one of its most stalwart champions for over a decade, is known for his quality, groove-driven Techno and handy DJ tools on labels like Hardgroove, his Truncate imprint, and jackin’ WRKTRX sublabel. Here, he taps up Chicagoan 90s Techno and House legend and 4 Track Recordings label boss DJ Hyperactive for the ‘Trust The Process’ EP, whose own production credits span labels like CLR, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, and once before Truncate for 2023’s ‘Reptilian Tank’ EP.

Label co-founder Tal Fineman launches new alias Faulter with Obstinacy, a 4-track EP that showcases his penchant for cutting edge, contemporary club sounds.

Spanning a broad spectrum of energy, Obstinacy balances heads-down groove with a meticulous, measured approach to songwriting.

A record of two halves, the EP opens with two peak-time bombs designed to ignite warehouse dancefloors worldwide. First up is the unrelenting techno weapon ‘Perspectives’ (file in your wormhole playlist) followed by a slamming, in-your-face electro wobbler, ‘Data Spike’.

The ‘B-side’ shifts towards deeper shades and organic textures, with the dub techno & minimal-leaning title track 'Obstinacy' - an ideal layering tool for like-minded DJs. Finally, the EP closes with 'Zaf (Dub Mix)', a brooding, delay-laced gem that rounds out the release on a moody note, hinting at much more to come

Sigmoid Fn returns for another trip on the enjoyment express. Revisiting the zone of computer body music explored on his 2024 self-titled release, ‘Training Set’ goes deeper, darker, and dancier in every way.
