Amsterdam-based Dj Ojo Ojo is up next on the 66th edition of our mix series. They seek the balance between archaic baselines, groove and energetic-hybrid euphoria. No thinking, only dancing and no risk = no fun. This is like a philosophy to the artist and also comes back in their role as one of the conceptualizers of the event series “Parrhesia”, which is focused on delivering an intoxicating & innovative take on the genre.

SSLV is a Munich based DJ who recently thrifted away from digital mixing and found his new passion in mixing vinyls.
His sound is reflecting rhythmic Hard Groove influenced by elements of Breakbeat, Electro, and Ghetto.

Black Mirror Park is DJ and producer located in Berlin, Germany. He's been a founding member of Sonntagsinstitut Collective, a crew that works on the intersection of club culture, electronic music and politics and has been hosting a radio show, curating a label and throwing parties for a few years already. Black Mirror Park has played DJ-sets at clubs and events like ://about.blank, Institut für Zukunft, Anomalie and many more. He's released tracks and EPs on KONFLKT, Entourage Concept, trau-ma and Front Left Records amongst others. His next release will be an EP called „The Great Filter“, out on Dessert Berlin's (a party series at ://about blank and a label) new sublabel „Is Serving“. It will be out on 21.04 with two original tracks and remixes by Jon Hester and Red Rooms, so make sure to check it out!

▻ You are originally from Munich, and now you live in Berlin, what brought you there?

I moved to Berlin for my masters but I loved the city since I was a child. Together with my passion for techno it just made sense to move there.

▻ Where did you have your last gig and how was it?

My last gig was Anomalie Art Club in Berlin for a privat event. It was fun but I‘m looking forward to play a clubnight someday. 

▻ You produce your own music in the meantime, how do you always start there and with what equipment do you have for it at the start?

I start with the kick and bassline, add a synth and fill the tracks with drums. I use an analog four a tr8s and ableton live to make my music. 

▻ What's on your musical agenda for 2023?

Finishing my first EP.

▻ I heard you go out a lot, what are your favorite clubs?

Berghain, RSO and ELSE.

Locus Error is a techno DJ from Nijmegen who already made quite a name for herself. With her groovy, uplifting techno and bouncy basslines, she already won over many audiences. This she proves with her residencies for Planet Rose, Open Source Radio and BALANS, but also with performances for Thuishaven, Bauhauz and for Artdictive in Radion.
Her performances show a passion for music that started as an 8-year-old cellist at a music school in Belgium. A passion that she expresses, among other things, in the event and record label BALANS that she runs together with Tripeo and also shows in the way in which she has helped Soundlab, the first DJ and producer student association in the Netherlands, rise to a higher level.
Be enchanted by her musical, but no less gruesome techno beats!

Get ready to dive into the two-hour long Podcast 026 that will transport you to the heart of the underground techno scene. In this episode of the 403 Podcast Series, we proudly present an exclusive mix curated and mixed by FLACS, a talented artist hailing from Rotterdam.

FLACS, a passionate and committed artist who is 25 years old, divides his time between Rotterdam and Amsterdam, where he is actively involved in both cities' thriving techno scenes. When he was a teenager, his passion for music first began, moving from punk and rock to the captivating world of electronic sounds. He investigated the fundamentals of DJing out of curiosity, and it didn't take him long to fall in love with everything it included. 

FLACS describes his music style as deep, groovy, hypnotic, sensual, and organic. His mixes are carefully crafted to create a sense of unity and connection with the audience. Besides some artists and promotors, it is the crowd itself where he really get’s the inspiration from. With deep rolling bass-lines, plucky hi-hats, and hypnotic soundscapes, FLACS creates a foundation that binds the crowd together. 

FLACS's journey into the world of the underground techno scene began through attending numerous events and festivals. However, it was within the captivating Amsterdam rave scene that he discovered a profound passion which left a lasting impression on his inner being. 

This podcast episode is a true reflection of FLACS's distinctive style and evokes a specific atmosphere and feeling. With its two-hour duration, it allows for a consistent, uplifting energy to build throughout. The mix starts deep and rolling, gradually leading you into faster and more energetic grooves towards the end. ‘’This is a set I'd like to hear somewhere on a hidden rave just outside of town. In which it is still eerie and dark at the beginning, the hypnotic sounds take you and reverberate through space. Towards the end of the set, the sun comes out and you wake up with a lot of new energy and feel the unity of the crowd.’’

In addition to his passion for DJing, FLACS is also one of the founding members of KØLT, an organization that emerged from his and four other like-minded individuals experiences in organizing illegal raves for various organizations in Amsterdam. While KØLT operates independently from De Fik, a collective in which three of the five founders are actively involved, they often collaborate closely. Through KØLT, FLACS and his crew hope to make a positive impact on the flourishing underground  scene by converting unusual settings into remarkable, liberated, and forward-thinking audio experiences. Their signature sound combines deep hypnotic techno with rolling progressive psytrance to create something unique!

Additionally, FLACS is a crucial member of De Fik's core crew. He coordinates studio and equipment rentals and is in charge of the atelier in addition to playing a major part in planning rave productions for various organizations. They are already working intensively to prepare for the highly anticipated Fik Garden Festival, a six-day spectacle stretching over two weekends with stages hosted by 12 groups. Their artistic facility in Riekerhaven officially opens with this festival.

403 PODCAST 026 - FLACS

Confusion, the Heidelberg-based both DJ and producer is the co-founder of event, podcast series and label @raserei_official. In his musical makings, confusion creates an ongoing hypnotic sound by combining stripped down rhythms, trippy vocals and emerging synths. With the Raserei crew he contributes to his home base a place for like-minded people by hosting the Raserei show since 2018 at Mannheims Disco Zwei with well-respected bookings. 

So be prepared to get lost in this months installment with Confusion.
