Work had taken over every aspect of her life; from dawn till dusk it consumed her, and other parts of her world suffered as a consequence. Switching off was a thing of the past, now her mind was constantly racing, like a speeding car with no brakes. At some point the car would have to come to a screeching halt, it couldn't be on the track forever, but without an airbag to cushion the blow would she wind up crashing head first through the wind screen?

Dutch producer Luca dell’Orso draws inspiration from the retro sounds of the 80s. His take on Italo disco and synthwave has caught the ear of several labels pushing these sonics including Bordello A Parigi, Red Laser Records, and Italo Moderni, to name but a few. Next up he makes his way to Ritmo Fatale for Drive Fast, Brake Hard. A five-track EP full of light and dark retrofurutist grooves, it's intended as a commentary on the current climate that we live in and how pushing oneself to the limit will lead to an inevitable breakdown.

Antoni Maiovvi is an artist like few others. “Knights of New Haven” summarises his unique ability and unparalleled range. 

This return to the Bordello reflects the influence of the West Coast Sound of the Netherlands as well as that machine music of his adopted home of the U.S. “Later Not Lately” bends bars above a throbbing kick, hi-hats ruffling the clean arcs of string. Echoes of Chicago and Detroit penetrate the EP. 

Melting melodies fold and oscillate under the crashing cymbals of “Slack Blabbath”, staggered synthlines jolted by tight percussion patterns. A brother-in-arms opens the flip, Danny Wolfers drafted in under his Legowelt moniker to turn his magic to “Later Not Lately”. Undulating undertones are sliced by serrated snares before a sordid TB303 is unsheathed, Wolfers’ soulful and squalid retelling of the original. 

“The Madness in the Method” closes. Fizzing static blurs drum patterns, a taut note piercing the dense bass fog. Teetering between the profound and the profane, Maiovvi pivots his horror disco trademark sound with driving house drums and devil-may-care grandeur. An EP of epic proportions.

For this 36th Premiere of 2020, we have a track by the DJ/producer from Paris, France "NiKiT" from the upcoming mini-LP "Radar" [EE030] on the Dutch Label : Electronic Emergencies.

Electronic Emergencies is a record label from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It was founded in 2014 by Spacemaker and Leather E, two DJs who have their roots in electronic music. They both love electronic sounds and melancholy melodies and are not bound to any style. The label’s aim is to release a wave of beautiful electronically generated music.

The track we have chosen to premiere is the B3 and is entitled ‘Mechanics’. It will be available from March 9th, 2020 on Vinyl (8-track mini-LP, 300 copies, hand-numbered) and on Digital & Streaming on March 23th, 2020.

'Radar' by Parisian DJ and producer NiKiT is Electronic Emergencies' first release in 2020. Two years after his debut, NiKiT has once again delivered a stunning mini-album. Compared to his debut 'Arcanes', NiKiT’s sound has expanded and is more spacey, while staying powerful and very danceable. Celebrated Dutch painter Ditty Ketting conceived the mesmerising cover art.
