Iteration of the Self

A collection of tracks I made in the last couple of years that resonated with me, showcasing a more ambient and lyrical side of my project

It can be envisioned as the soundtrack of an imaginary video game, movie, or a meaningful experience about growth

After rare apparitions on compilations, sound designer Victor Morello aka @zerocrossingpoint brings to light his very first full length release. "Iteration of the Self" gathers 8 tracks created on a 4 years interval and based on countless reworks and adjustments, mirroring a dense period of self transformation for the producer. Inspired by Ambient, Musique Concrete, Film Score, Club and Metal, Zero Crossing Point delivers a stunning piece of hybrid electronics, sometimes extreme, sometimes uplifting and cinematic.

Use and abuse of home made synthesised sounds and personal field recordings create an uncommon universe in which reverb, granular synthesis, distortion and resonators pave the way for an astonishing sense of narration. Drawing inspiration from nature observations, bizarre movies, books and video games, the Grenoble-based producer built a wonderful piece transcribing strong unsayable emotions and exploring the concept of iteration.

This first episode of Chant Magnétique features a one hour dreamy ambient journey I created, freely improvising on an old Yamaha PSS-50 keyboard, overdubbed and processed through my laptop using a variety of audio transformations. Detached from its original source, the sound reverberates into unreal and immense spaces, like a memory polished by the passage of time.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Zero Crossing Point. "Doom Process" comes off the third release, Panting, out on Poland's Mixed Feelings. This bass-driven, vicious opener from the French producer delivers overdriven beats and ferocious basslines, exuding an overwhelming intensity that balances between visceral damage and addictive pleasure, setting a dark and aggressive tone for the release.

Chant Magnétique, Episode 2 - LYL Radio

For this last episode of Chant Magnétique, Zero Crossing Point asked his community to send sounds that they recorded, to be used as the material for creating the music of the show.
The constraint was the following: one sound per track, where everything was created from a single source. 
Random recordings are turned into vast ambient soundscapes, or even a full techno track including percussion and psychedelic sounds.
