Because of this particular close to nature but industrial-like location, I've picked out some club bangers that have been waiting to be played for a long time. I hope you like it. With his second set for this exhibition, Zeta K chooses a different approach to describe the theme of the exhibition, mixing technoid breakbeats with a strong atmosphere that leads through different emotions: "These are marked by a fast-paced world and vacillate between a no future attitude and a spirit of optimism."

_C O N C E P T__
The exhibition and lecture series "The Language of the City - Architecture between Normalized Views and Aesthetic Subjectivity" was dedicated to two contradictory aspects:

1) the potential for creative expression offered by the examination of architecture using contemporary digital technologies;
2) and the context of neoliberal enrichment economy and urban politics, which threatens to undermine this potential due to the commercialized presentation of architecture.

Art itself cannot resolve such a tension between aestheticisation and economic appropriation. Through art, however, this tension can be exhibited, experienced and made discursively available to the public. The exhibition pursues this goal by assembling various pictures by different artists, commentary lectures and DJ sets.
The artistic contributions, which include the sets to be heard here, represent aesthetic interventions. They oppose cultural standardization processes and the post-Fordist economy of enrichment and claims a city worth living in. They thematize utopian and dystopian moments of the relationship between city, living and culture in harmonic to dissonant form.

By calling for a critical attitude towards the topic, they participate in processes of aesthetic education. This is to be understood as a double movement. On the one hand, it is the development of a sensibility for the "internal stylization" (Seel 2018: 124) of objects. On the other, it works to shape a critical perception of the "imagination of human existence" (Seel 2018: 124) that objects (such as architectural buildings and urban spaces) evoke. Therefore, aesthetic education is to be understood both as intensification and "taste formation" (Seel 2018: 125), thus also as distancing from the present world. Its result can be understood as a "counter-taste" (Menke 2012: 234) which resists both the temptations of a feel-good consumerism and a visual normalization.

Catacombs of Utopolis is back with a slightly different musical concept that will form a new signature sound over the next few events, but still with a strong focus on club oriented contemporary techno.
This gathering was a soli event in support of AZ and local political structures, also showcasing some new faces in Aachen's techno scene.
I've recorded this mix again, because the recording did not work at the club. I did my best to put the same energy into this one as well.

This episode comes from Synergis (@synergis), a young Berlin-based artist, co-organizer and resident of the RESONANZ event series.
Synergis' sound is marked by a tightrope walk: Fog and clarity, light and shadow, melody and drums, accompanied by noise. 
In his sets he usually combines old school gothic tracks, sounds with trance-like hymns and meandering EBM. That together mixed with dark, mean techno alongside hard-hitting metallic Drums, screams and noises. All tracks receive the same attention and Synergis tries to find the right spot for every piece of music to create a rousing flow of energy.
