Slam - Movement [Drumcode]

Victor Calderone has stepped up for his first solo release on Drumcode with his two track single, ‘Burden’. Featuring two energetic tracks, ‘Skin’ and ‘Burden’, Victor has used effected vocals to create funky rhythms over the top of some steaming kick drums. The synth stabs lend themselves well across this EP particularly in ‘Burden’ where they really augment the flow of the track. The use of percussion phrases throughout both tracks on the single also reinforces the grooves and adds character to create a distinctive sound that keeps the single fresh and exciting.

The duo make their debut to Drumcode Limited with a heavy, two track release. The EP showcases a mix of their talents and influences to create a moody, dark techno groove. The atmospheric EP is enriched with gritty reverbs and a deep kick drum and the slow, deep crescendos in each track create an intense sound. Mullaert and Siech prove themselves again with a powerful offering to Drumcode Limited.

<p>Alessandro makes his Phobiq debut and offers four tracks in his signature style. The title track sets the tone with its claustrophobic vibe and then unleashes mechanized stabs and a pulsating bassline which all lead to the commanding breakdown. &#8220;Walking On&#8221; continues in the same vein with the spotlight shifting to the tasty chord action, while discordant arpeggios intertwine with looped-out vocals. &#8220;Hold On&#8221; treads in further hypnotic territory, reinforced by shadowy electronics and a crackling rhythm section, and the EP ends with the haunting sensibilities and menacing synth riff of &#8220;Resource&#8221;.</p>

Two of the main stays of the Tel Aviv underground scene Chicola & Sahar Z, collaborate and deliver a tasty release on the fine imprint Rusted (belonging to fellow Israeli Roy Rosenfeld).
Chicola has been DJ-ing for many years and he's released on Lost & Found, microCastle and Sudbeat amongst others, while talented Dj and producer Sahar Z has had his music grace Bedrock, Lost & Found and Sudbeat. So a collaboration on Rusted is the perfect home for these guys.
Hallucinate is a brooding deep yet minimalistic techno groove, laced with trippy melodies and fx, sprinkled with funky percussion, while along along gently twisting your mind. A bit of a monster really..!
Taking us tougher, we finding Morning Glory. This techno gem unfurls its power from the off, with its fierce bassline paving the way. Its pretty relentless in its approach as it just keeps going along, knocking everything out of its way, signposted by mad synth stabs, cool fx and general nuttiness. Solid!

Responsible for transforming the underground House scene in his homeland, Chicola is now making giant strides on a global scale. 
He has previously released music on: Sudbeat, Lost & Found, Suruba Records and microCastle. 
Now we welcome him to Tenampa with his amazing: Drosea EP. A modern production, full of stabs and occasional atmospheric warm chords with brass layers of synths and pads that drive you into Chicolas wonderfully deep world... which is the whole foundation of his music. 

On remix duties is one of the UKs most exciting young artists: Samu.l 
Who has previously released on labels such as: Saved, 8Bit, Moan, Selador, Inmotion, and 1trax - for which he mixed his debut compilation FIVE (following Matt Tolfrey, Subb-an, Huxley and Hector in the series).

Samu.l highlights the groove and percussions of the original version, but also puts his raw signature horns touch, creating a damn fine remix!

Victor Ruiz is one of the hottest names in underground electronic music right now, and this release on Oliver Huntemann’s always-reliable Senso imprint gives a pretty clear reason why. The Brazilian DJ and producer has been popping up all over the world in the last few years, and his string of amazing releases on labels such as Electric Ball- room and Sudbeat have cemented his reputation.
'Nevermind' - is Victor Ruiz doing what he does best - exploring track dynamics within a perfectly developed journey - including an unsettling and trippy vocal that lifts the track even further towards the stars. Label boss Oliver Huntemann stops by to provide the remix - stipping the track down to his signature sound - deep and streamlined, yet full of emotion.

Well, 2016 was a bit of a mixed bag wasn't it? It's certainly a year that I wont forget in a hurry - for all sorts of reasons - good and bad. However the one common denominator throughout pretty much all of it has been music. Whether its what you turn too to make you happy or whether its the cause of what occasionally makes you sad, there is no denying that music is the one thing that brings us all together to share what is best about being a human. So here's to sharing and caring. We can all do more of both in 2017 but I want to sign off for the holidays by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you all for caring about my music. As for the sharing, I'll start us off with this... ;)

An illustrious career stretching over two decades has seen, Chico Shuella, become one of Israel’s most respected and sought after DJs and producers. Operating under his Chicola production moniker, he has transformed the underground house scene in his homeland while making giant strides on a global scale. Surrounded by music from an early age and an accomplished pianist ensured Chicola had a keen ear for musical harmony, as early DJ parties quickly flourished into appearances in Israel’s biggest clubs. Throughout the late 90s, the world renowned “Allenby 58”, situated in the Tel Aviv capital, played host to Chicola’s skills behind the decks as his career blossomed, warming up for such elite artists as Carl Craig, Danny Tenaglia, Sister Bliss and Basement Jaxx.

An unparalleled dedication and passion for his craft saw the young Chicola yearning to bring the newest music and brightest underground stars to his homeland by travelling the world’s record shops. One time collector of over 10,000 pieces of vinyl, encapsulating the excitement of dance music at the height of its seductive powers, Chicola’s work for trendsetting record shops and music labels provided him with the opportunity to begin international DJ appearances alongside a residency at the famous Haoman 17 club alongside fellow Israeli superstar, Sahar Z.

Sets for such luminaries as Laurent Garnier and his radio show, coupled with a production career that began with DJ Vic and led to successful releases on US imprints, Tommy Boy and KTA, soon saw appearances on the Ministry of Sound imprint as Roger Sanchez became a supporter of the Chicola sound.

A carefully constructed pause in a career rising at exponential rate saw Chicola become one of Israel’s most sought after wedding DJs transforming his skill, technique and knowledge into a hugely successful business enterprise, managing one of Israel’s largest wedding DJ agencies and performing upwards of 130 gigs a year while simultaneously helping develop a successful dance label and publishing agency.
