About the new single "Con Clave y Tambó" by Barrio Latino feat Danny Lozada 

Tropical Latin dance music is commonly referred to as “Salsa” -- a very generic term with origins in the late 1960's, and made popular by the classic Fania albums of the 1970's. Since then, a very recent style has emerged, a new sound developed mostly in Cuba. This more contemporary fusion of traditional Afro-Cuban music and other musical languages is simply called TIMBA.

The North American styles of Soul and Funk, where jazz chords and harmonies are used to push dance rhythms forward, share a common language with Timba, a favorite of Cuba's top artists, cultural programs and universities. Even though Timba is a form of popular dance music, it's rich origins demand a level of technical mastery that is only made possible via highly trained musicians -- players who have solid theoretical backgrounds in classical, jazz and traditional Afro-Cuban music.

Formed in 2005 by trumpeter and composer Tamas Bodzsár and a group of young jazz musicians, BARRIO LATINO is the first Timba orchestra in Hungary. Although the band has not been active in the past few years, the bands’ music was recognized by Grammy award winning sound engineer Michael Lazarus, owner of Latin Pulse Music Inc. and it's various divisions. Modern internet tools and programs have facilitated this new international collaboration between Tamas and Michael, and, as a consequence of this collaboration, BARRIO LATINO's debut album will be released on the USA-based, LPM record label: Spanish Music Records.

With this first single from the upcoming album -- entitled "Con Clave Y Tambó" -- we give you the initial sample of the new sound of Barrio Latino, a track that counts with the participation of singer and "charanguero mayor" Danny Lozada. we sincerely hope you enjoy it and spread it to your listeners.

La música latina tropical bailable se conoce comúnmente como la "Salsa" -- un término genérico con orígenes a finales de los 1960, y popularizado por los álbumes clásicos de la Fania de la década de los 1970. Desde entonces, un estilo muy reciente ha surgido, un nuevo sonido desarrollado sobre todo en Cuba. Esta fusión más contemporánea de la música afro-cubana tradicional y otros idiomas musicales se llama simplemente....TIMBA.

Los estilos norteamericanos de Soul y Funk, donde se utilizan los acordes y armonías de jazz para empujar adelante los ritmos de baile, comparten un lenguaje común con la Timba, género favorito de los mejores artistas de Cuba, programas culturales y universidades. A pesar de que la Timba es música popular bailable, sus orígenes ricos exigen un nivel de dominio técnico que sólo se hace posible a través de músicos altamente capacitados -- unos que tienen sólidos fundamentos teóricos de música clásica, jazz y tradicional afro-cubana.

Formado en 2005 por el trompetista y compositor Tamas Bodzsár y un grupo de jóvenes músicos de jazz, BARRIO LATINO es la primera orquesta de Timba en Hungría. Aunque la banda no ha estado activa en los últimos años, su música fue reconocida por el ingeniero de sonido y ganador del premio Grammy, Michael Lázarus, dueño de la empresa Latin Pulse Music Inc. y sus diversas divisiones. Herramientas y programas de Internet modernos han facilitado esta nueva colaboración internacional entre Tamas y Michael, y a consecuencia de esta colaboración, el álbum debut de BARRIO LATINO se dará a conocer por el sello discográfico de LPM y basado en los EE.UU, de nombre Spanish Music Records. 

Con este primer sencillo del anticipado disco -- titulado "Con Clave y Tambó" -- te brindamos la muestra inicial del nuevo sonido de Barrio Latino, tema que cuenta con la participación del cantante y charanguero mayor Danny Lozada. This is Salsa at it's best. A must add to your Salsa collection. Highly recommended by me.
