It’s been a while since I’ve actually DJed or released a mix. It’s been a crazy three years since moving to Bali—mental and physical health, family, work, life… It really feels like things are only just getting back into some kind of rhythm that I can flow with right now.

Finally, this year, I relaunched RITUAL, a club night I’ve been running for 10 years now. We’ve found a new home at RASA in Singapore—a club designed by Studio Karhard (the same architectural team behind Berghain and Kyiv’s K41) and featuring a custom-built TPI sound system. Over the years, I’ve hosted legends like Gerd Janson, @prinsthomas, @romanfluegel, @radioslave, @orpheuthewizard, @chida73, @kornel, @tornadowallace, @manfredas, Ivan Smagghe ( @colonelgatito) … just to name-drop a few haha

Here’s a recording of my opening set from March, headlined by @john-talabot —an artist I have the utmost respect for and draw a lot of my music inspiration from. Not gonna lie, it was a little bit of a dream come true to finally do the opening set for him!

The set includes tracks from @midland, @radioslave, @sunnysibar, @priori-ties, @simonedekunovich and more— artists I’ve booked (and been inspired by) over the years.

BLACKOUT started out as a club night at Kilo Lounge in 2014... fast forward just 3 years to today and BLACKOUT has grown into an Events Company & a DJ Booking Agency. The private facebook group has grown up to 3000 followers.... and is constantly growing day by day. A firm believer in "Quality Not Quantity". Very thankful for all the support from everyone who has attended all the club nights and events I've been organising.  Living the dream only because of all of you. 

I finally started to enjoy looking for all this new music and  putting it together for a new mix. My music has changed alot in the last 6 months, so it's time to put out a new mix.  I've been listening to lot of Ambient, Electronica, Rock & Psychedelic music lately.  Also been really inspired by Red Axes, Prins Thomas , Jennifer Cardini, Roman Flugel & home boy Jonathan Kusuma. They've got a really refreshing sound, and their track selection never fail to impress me.

Zig Zach - BLACKOUT 3rd Year Anniversary Mix (July 2017)

My first mix of the year and it's up on the Indonesian podcast series Dekadenz, which is run by Jonathan Kusuma and his crew in Jakarta. These guys have been pushing a really cool sound for awhile now and I'm a huge fan of what they are doing there. 

Taken from the Live recording of my opening set at the mainstage at EPIZODE Festival in Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. Epizode boasts one of the strongest lineups I've ever seen in this region and the festival did not disappoint. It is the festival that Asia needs.

Zig Zach - Epizode Promo Mix Nov 2018

Last year, we took over a small private island in Indonesia called the White Sands Island and threw a two day party there. Something that has never been done on that island. 

The sun was shining, the clear blue water was glistening and everyone was having such an amazing time as Riff Raff layed down some sunset choons. Here's the recording of his set that day. 

We're just finalzing the new dates for the second party there so keep a look out for them.

Secret Island Escape -  Sunset Mix By DJ Riff Raff

Damn it's been awhile since i've done a mix! Running the events and agency has kept me crazy busy over the last year or so,  but with all the free time that I have now coz of this pandemic..... I really have no excuse. 

Another reason, why I had to do a mix was because Blackout Agency was invited by More Unst Radio to host a takeover, so I gathered a few of my homies , Brendon P, Maurice Simon and the master of the trippyness Eric Volta to put together something for the show. (All other mixes be up soon) 

I went into this mix with the idea of creating something that could be played at sunset, sunrise or an after party. Something trippy, but laid back and not too intense. I put together some of my fav tracks here for this mix and ended on a note with "Bryan Ferry - Don't Stop The Dance." These four words mean even more to me than they did before, especially in these crazy times where clubs, bars, events, concerts festivals and everything that I love has now come to a standstill. 

Whatever troubles, whatever these new rules are, whatever the circumstances we may face, even as we are locked in our own home, put on some music and.... "Don't Stop The Dance."

More Unst Radio x Blackout - Zig Zach "Don't Stop The Dance" (April 2020)

Was recently invited to do a mix for the Huntleys + Palmers radio show on RinseFM in the UK. Rinse FM is one of the leading radio stations for top quality electronic music and a lot of my favourite artists have either held down residencies or done mixes for many of the shows on the station. Being a part of something like this is very special to me. =) Massive thanks to Andrew Thomson for making this happen.

Mixmag Asia Radio 029: Zig Zach

"Back To Mine" was actually a DJ compilation series that featured some of the big name DJ's like Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, New Order & Carl Cox and a whole bunch of others. It was more of a what the DJs would play at home after a night out, rather than as part of a nightclub session.

After my gig at Kyo, me and my girlfriend went back to a friends place to chill and I put a mix on and it was sooo mind-blowing and inspiring that it really made me want to do a mix that you could play and just chill out to after hitting it hard at the clubs. 

I love going back to someone's house and just playing the really deep chilled stuff that I might never get to play out in the clubs. Really sets the mood and vibe for the after party. It's a really laidback chilled set, so kick back and unwind to what I would like to hear/play at an after party in someone's living room

So here it is, my version of Back To Mine. An afterhours and chilled deep house session.

Back To Mine June 2013 Promo Mix

#Savemusicsg was set up to help raise awareness to bring forward a discussion with the govt here about how these rules are affecting not only the livelihood and the mental state of musicians, but also the people stuck here in this warped reality.

Here's the recording of my set from the 2 day live stream featuring some of the local DJs . I hope you enjoy this mix and I hope to share a dancefloor with all of you soon.
