About the mix: 
Nokin Toro 3, dedicated to one of my best friends “Roderick Nokin” [https://soundcloud.com/rodnokin]. This is a mix that was 5 years in the making (after part 2 in 2018). 5 years in which I took my time to gather the right pieces until it felt complete.
As a rule of thumb, I tend not to release a mix until I believe:
a. I’ve obtained a large amount of quality songs to select
b. The songs work harmonically and cohesively with one another
c. The overall “theme” of the mix can be established 
d. I feel motivated to mix (lol)
Additionally, it helps that each Nokin Toro mix was released for Christmas :).

So a quick breakdown, what's a Nokin Toro anyways?
My friend used to create a playlist for our friend called “Rafy Poro”, creating up to 3 playlists over the years. I decided one year to make a mix in honor of that idea and thus named it Nokin Toro. Well, here’s the 3rd and “final” Nokin Toro mix. 

This mix was probably one of my most challenging ones to date. I had so many songs and every one that wasn’t used was a certified 3 to 4-star banger lol.  Not to mention the songs I did use had some interesting challenges in mixing them.

Also producing left field house and techno under the name Borrowed cs, Clear Path Ensemble is Cory’s first offering to the jazz gods. Having spent many years playing drums alongside some of New Zealand’s most talented musicians in the revered Wellington jam session scene this release is an amalgamation of the energy & spirit that the Wellington scene encompasses. Walking over the blurred lines of psychedelia and spiritual jazz and taking cues from planetary rhythms and celestial oddities, CPE invokes a higher sense of self through the transformative power of sound. In it’s truest essence these are a collection of cosmic compositions and a release that in our opinion is one of the heaviest to ever emerge from the New Zealand neo-jazz scene.
