Performing an opening DJ set for an event that welcomes one of the biggest DJs in this world, such a Hernan Cattaneo, and has multiple openers on top of it - was not easy. In this recording, one can hear me keep the BPM at a steady 122 while playing a smooth edgy deep house set with a tech influence. It was such an honor to be part of this event (thank you SET!) and as always, Hernan rocked the crowed so good .. no one was ready to go home at 4am!

Zita Molnar Opening DJ Set (Live) for Hernan Cattaneo in San Francisco, 3.22.14

Cannonball was an epic multi boat party with about 220+ attendees on the Delta River in Ca. This mix was done unexpectedly right about late night / early sunrise with a bunch of good friends on their SS Shipface boat, surrounded with a beautiful island view, on calm waters, fresh summer air, still in a wonderfully altered state of mind after a long night raging / dancing. Even though dawn was ending, we just couldnt stop the music, until the sun came back up fully on, shining with its warmth. Luckily, remembered to push the record button. Enjoy the next 3 hr set. =)

Saturday morning, the playa gave us a wonderful sunny clear beautiful, no wind weather. Mix that with new friends and old friends shaking it on the dance floor, couple art cars arriving and anchoring down, and people grabbing those first eye opener drinks at the best BRC open bar. All this, while I got to do opening DJ duties for my favorite daytime Burning Man camp, Distrikt, for the first time ever. It was pure joy and happiness, and no need to say - it felt extra special to be able to partake in the lineup not just in San Francisco, but also in Black Rock City. Zita Molnar at Techno Taco Tuesday, Las Vegas (recorded live mix) 04.26.2016

Opening for Carlo Lio was a great experience. I had to think and research well for my set, him being a versatile international talent whose techno style varies, yet its always on point. Thoughts: how do I want to start steering the "ship"?  What music should I put in my digi crate? I m usually armed with about 80 new tracks for any major event, but I didnt know what to focus on this time: I felt the music had to be techno, but not too fast (duh - I m opening)but headlining the last couple times I caught my ears wired toward peak hour energy material that was not going to work. Other decision: shall I play american or european techno, what to have as a back up in case the crowd is not ready for the brand new releases from just days and weeks ago? shall I have something familiar - should I sneak in deeper stuff? or how about some minimal or acid tracks?  Words vs no words ( I prefer zero vocals but wanted to push my boundaries a bit) Will Carlo be able to link in and continue the "story" us opener started?   I felt I did alright ;) Love thinking about music, the audience, bringing new underground stuff to the table, and ponder about the crowds reaction.  I feel at one point if its done right the audience and the DJs think as "one", vibe together - and thats the BESTEST feeling ever for a musician like me. Thanks for all who came out to the event!

Today's feauture "ReV!S!T" artist is Lisa Lashes, one of the most active and known female DJ/ Producers in the world, from England. 

Lisa's first release was in 1999. Since then she has done 39 singles / EPs in addition to the 16 albums and compilations that has her other tracks. She has headlines numerous major festivals including Creamfields, Global Gathering, Nocturnal Wonderland, and many more in Australia, China, Canada, US, Russia, New Zeland. 

I should have done a better podcast-intro ten years ago of her but I am fixing that now! =) Super excited to be able to re-feature Lisa Lashes and remind the world what an epic bad ass this lady she is. Thanks again Lisa for the opportunity to be able to stream your music!

ReV!S!T August 2010 - feat. George Acosta [a new Sound and Machine Podcast segment]

The final feature on the "ReV!S!T" segment is British based, London duo C-Sytems aka Starro and Aki.

Just this last August, C-Systems released a single that was featured on Armin Van Buuren's "A State of Trance" show.  The title of this track is "Time" with Hanna Finsen, on Raznitzan Music.

ReV!S!T December 2010 feat. C-Systems [a new Sound and Machine Podcast segment]

Hi Everyone, 


Its been a minute since we showcased a guest DJ on the Sound and Machine Podcast! No better way to start then with Darin Epsilon. He is an international DJ and producer, host of Perspectives Digital podcast, and nominated as Best Progressive House DJ in 2016! Darin has released music on Perspectives, Katermukke, Sudbeat, Einmusika, Selador, Parquet, Warung, and collaborated with Hernan Cattaneo, Robert Babicz, Betoko, John Graham aka Quivver, Matt Lange, Matthew Dekay, Cid Inc, Omid 16B (S.O.S.), and Chris Fortier, among countless others.  

I got to know Darin, while we both lived in Chicago, back in the mid 2000s. Darin now lives in Berlin, after an extensive stay in Los Angeles. 

I am so excited to be able to feature him. He is talented, he is a super nice guy, and his production and remixes are top notch.
