On a recent trip hosted by Aahang LUMS, we visited Sehwan, home to the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. In the mazaar, a woman named Asma Hasan sang the song "Har Dard ki Dawa hai" and I recorded it through my phone. It was one of the best voices I have ever heard and she was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. 

Though the quality of the recording wasn't that great, I wanted to create a song out of it as a way to remember the mazaar of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. I added synth and bass, but tried to keep her voice as the central feature as it should be.

A full cover of the song "They Don't Really Care About Us" by Michael Jackson. One of the few songs I remember from my childhood, and probably one of the most rebellious. 

The best part of the song for me was where he sang:

An acoustic guitar fingerstyle arrangement of I See Fire by Ed Sheeran for the movie The Hobbit. 

The quote I included in the bridge was by Bilbo Baggins from the first part of The Hobbit:

This is a song I composed a couple of weeks ago. It's almost time for graduation and everyone around me is emo (including me), but this song isn't about missing anybody or anything. I think it's more about moving on and embracing change in the middle of a bittersweet feat like graduation.

Also, this was the first time I recorded my semi using effects from my processor. God bless the Boss GT.

I spent most of my life picking up the pieces of a trauma I faced as a kid. I always had a tough time connecting with people and places (still do sometimes tbh). The only real place I ever felt free was my roof in the middle of the night. This song is about the conversations I had in those moments.
