A friend of mine recently suffered a terrible loss. When I heard her story, I experienced a great breadth of emotions, most of which I had no words for. I cannot say that I understand what she is going through, and I know one piece of music can never take all of her pain away, but I wanted to share this piece that I improvised with her in mind. I titled it "Stillness" to reflect the feeling of inability to move after someone you care for deeply is lost.
