Dax J’s success within the challenging environment of international DJing and music production has been considerable, yet he hasn’t chosen to passively bask in the comfort of his accomplishments. Instead, he has used his recent experiences to create sonic weapons to confront “public morality” with a themed album of the same name. The concept of “public morality” is one that can be used to help solidify the bonds that hold together society, but on the other hand, it can also provide the basis for acts of exclusion and scapegoating within that same society.

Touching upon numerous “hot button” issues that could offend non-reflective, puritanical sensibilities (i.e. drug abuse, racism, prostitution, murder), Offending Public Morality sprawls out like a foreboding urban landscape and calls upon all kinds of sound elements that will be new to those already familiar with Dax J. Though he has been closely identified with the techno genre this new set makes knowing nods towards his influences in the UK jungle / drum ‘n bass scene, while also undertaking exercises in IDM, EBM, acid and other forms of uncategorizable intensity. From the introductory “Babylon Brutality”, which nails gritty film samples to a lush vocal elegy and authoritarian percussion, Dax J presents a story wherein creative, exploratory energy is constantly forced to contend with paranoiac, racist and exploitative tendencies. It’s a relentless record typified by dark undertones and raw, unfiltered energy.

Equal portions of positive excitement and dread are present in the sequencer-powered, dialed-in rush of “Reclaim Our Lost Honor” or “Offending Public Morality” (whose Middle Eastern-flavored keys separate it from many likeminded journeys into Euro-coldness), while acid-dripping cuts like “Unrepentacostal” and the jungle cyborg stomp “Mustapha Mond” take a darker, chillier approach. There are plenty of seductive moments to keep the force of impact from being too overwhelming – especially Zanias’ guest vocal turn on “Waves of Isolation,” and the flaring brightness of “Feed The Pigeons” – but these moments of beauty tend to only highlight the importance of Dax J’s overall message.

That this message can be conveyed clearly with such a variety of different sound techniques is a real testament to Dax J’s skill as a producer, but also to his perceptiveness and his resilience in the face of adversity.

Offending Public Morality draws up the lines of conflict in a way that’s vivid and loud as possible; using radical sounds to document the ongoing struggle between free expression and violent repression.

We are very happy to celebrate the first anniversary of the Prisma Techno label. It was a fantastic year, and during that time we received the support of great DJs and producers who not only believed in our sound but also played our music in clubs and festivals around the world.

After a year of solid releases, we are pleased to present the 'Orbit' EP, from the maltese artist Toxism, which, in its first release for Prisma Techno, delivers two pearls with great energy and personality. In addition to the two original tracks, 'Stellar' and 'Orbit', we also have remixes of Phouz, Against the Time, Distant and Hioll, each adding their own signature to the original title track.

Foundation and Early Years (1993–2003)

In 1993, DJ Zodiak (Marc Pulles) founded Zodiak Commune (partyorganisation), initially as a spontaneous rave after a birthday party. The collective quickly became a legendary force in the Dutch electronic underground. Zodiak was the driving force behind Zodiak Commune parties, a central figure in shaping the second wave of underground Acid and Electro in the Netherlands.

Foundation and Early Years (1998–2003)
------------------------------------
Zodiak Commune Records (the label) was founded in 1998 by DJ Zodiak as the label arm of the Zodiak Commune collective. From the start, the label was vinyl-first, representing the raw and innovative spirit of Acid music.

The label released tracks covering the breadth of underground acid styles, including Acid Techno, Electro Acid, and Acid IDM, and quickly became recognized as an influential player in the Dutch electronic underground, helping to shape and sculpt the scene.

Between 1998 and 2003, the label also organized Zodiak Commune Records label parties at major cultural venues, including Effenaar (Eindhoven), Doornroosje (Nijmegen), 013 (Tilburg), and other locations across the Netherlands and Belgium.

Slower Phase (2003–2017)
------------------------------------
After Zodiak stepped back as a DJ and transferred the Zodiak Commune party organization to a non-profit foundation in 2003, the label entered a slower period. Releases were less frequent, but Zodiak Commune Records remained active and respected in the underground scene.

Revival and Expansion (2017–Present)
------------------------------------
In 2017, Zodiak fully reactivated the label, returning with renewed energy and focus. Since then, Zodiak Commune Records has expanded its activities and built a strong international presence, while remaining true to its vinyl-first Acid identity.

The label now operates multiple sub-labels, including:

* Outlaw303 – Raw Acid and Electro Acid
* Same Size Soul – Pure Electro
This structure allows the label to explore different underground sounds while staying deeply rooted in the Acid movement.

Zodiak Commune Records places a strong emphasis on supporting new talent alongside established artists, providing a platform for fresh voices in the scene. The team behind the label includes:
