“A record label is made of collaborators and friends”

This was one of my first thoughts when starting a record label. So, naturally, the upcoming release is a very exciting one for me. Amatteuur  is the newest project of Fabiano Fonseca. And this man is a great deal for me. To make you understand how I feel about this release, I will have to take you back to 1994. I had recently moved from Chile to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It’s actually a pretty interesting town, over 3 million people with a layered city centre which was planned in the early 20 century. Outside of the city centre it expanded randomly.. Architecture and urbanism aside… or not really, there was a record store called “Urban Cave”.

If you are younger than 30, probably you don’t understand the thrill of a record store the way we did back then. If you were a nerd, like myself, that is. You would read on a magazine or a rare occasion an article on modem internet (which would take ages to load) about a record… if you were lucky you could listen to it at the shop, if not, you would have to order it. Good luck finding a record store with a decent catalogue, especially down in South America. But hey! there was one right next to my high school. And there was a cool young chap involved in all of this: Fabiano. They also had a film renting place with cool alternative movies. Honestly, it was the place to go after school or even at lunch break. In this great place I heard for the first time Sonic Youth, Pavement, Stereolab, Chemical Brothers and Krautrock and so much more!

Years later the store closed. But the memories of those afternoons after school inebriating myself with music will last forever.  And years later indeed Fabiano came back yet again as such cool inspiration while he was one of the members of Belo Horizonte’s own Digitaria in the early 2000s.  They had just released with Gigolo records and were coming back from a European tour.  Just in time when I was getting into dance music and raving: I saw them live. It was ecstatic.  I remember watching Fabiano smashing those drum machines with such fervour, creating a truly intense performance which inspired me to pursue my dance music projects and made me hope I could, one day, who knows, collaborate with him.

Needless to say I am stoked to have him in HOONOH’s catalogue with his newest single “Strictly Naked”. We’ve been carrying out talks about this release for a while and finally came out.

Amatteuur - Strictly Naked

This is an EP that I have been working on in the past couple of months. I feel that I have really improved in my quality of productions since being at Elon University. I have had lots of time to practice and create many different styles of music. I named this EP Sanguine Prospects to symbolize the optimism I have for my future in music and the possible  prospects I will have in my exploration of music. This EP is made up of one up-beat EDM song, two slow melodic beats, and two confident, hard hitting, trap/hip-hop melodic beats.  I hope everyone enjoys and will stick with me as I further my knowledge in music production.  This album will be available on all streaming services!
