Aaand it’s on! “NIGHT VOYAGE TOOL KIT” is the first chapter of the Crossover Series, a new collection of Sound Pellegrino EPs where we explore collaborations between producers from various horizons, scenes, countries or generations, that have so much in common it feels like the world of music doesn’t have a choice but to see them unite under one viciously irresistible groove.

I first came across TOM TRAGO via the world of dutch designer Parra, his Le Le project and the “baguette frappant” parties he used to hold with the Pain O Chokolat crew at the legendary (and now defunct) club Paris Paris. TOM TRAGO represented the more disco, midtempo, soulful side of the dutch house scene at a time where holland was synonymous with high pitched synth lines and bubblin rhythms. When we found out about the music he was releasing on fantastic label Rush Hour we got hooked, his remix for High Powered Boys’ “Udon”, his collaboration with the god Romanthony and his beautiful “Iris” album sealed the deal.

One day we noticed that Tom was exchanging compliments with our UK grimey house hero BOK BOK in the form of digital carrier pigeons through the information superhighway. BOK BOK, the co-founder of genre-defining imprint Night Slugs, is known for being very picky. His validation is a special mark of trust cherished by up and coming producers worldwide, the constant proof of his impeccable taste. We were so psyched to see BOK BOK give props to a producer completely outside of the scene he was known to evolve in, that we knew we had to bring them together as the first combination in the Crossover Series project. We set up some studio sessions with the two of them in Amsterdam and after a short week of brainstorming and hard work surrounded by analog synths and drum machines at Tom’s studio, the 6 tracks that make up “NIGHT VOYAGE TOOL KIT” were born.

“PATHFINDER” is a dry &amp; gritty beat led by a haunting space bass and elastic drums, backed by a soft layer of analog noise, like a hot wind of realness blowing over the city.

“WHITE TYPE R” stars an epileptic rimshot reigning over an obsessive synth. Simple and effective, this is a perfect spice to layer on top of any track in need of that extra “umph”, nicely fulfilling the EP’s “tool kit” promise.

“VECTOR” is a modernist fusion of bok-bokian grime and tragoist soul chops with a hint of miami bass underlining both producers’ most intuitive common drive and what brings them together: a new, never heard before take on ghetto house’s golden years.

“POM CLASH” sounds like a Night Slugs party deejayed by BOK BOK while TOM TRAGO is riding alone in the middle of the dancefloor in a klaxon horn-equipped bumper car.

“TIME MASTER” is like a remix of a remix in pure metadiddycal tradition. Sampling Teki Latex and Para One’s Canblaster remix, turning it into a beefed-up percolating Dancemania hommage, and then sticking a mesmerizing G-Funk siren on top of all that.

“LIL MA BONUS BEAT” concludes the odyssey with a bassy nod to the duo’s common hip hop roots, flippin a screwed up vocal sample into pure funky acid Chicago madness.

This December, Get Physical has the honour of releasing the first ever album from
Chicago house luminary DJ Pierre. Before that, they drop one of the singles from the
LP with a special remix by Zombie Nation.

Pierre, by anyone’s standards, is a pivotal character in the story of house music. Active since the ‘80s, inventor of the acid sound with Phuture, the man behind the famous WildPitch style of tracks and remixes and a veteran of labels like King Street, Strictly Rhythm, Nite Groove and International Deejay Gigolo, he’s done it all. The new album rounds up all these highlights and includes some new exclusives along the way.

One is ‘Strobe Light Laser ACID,’ surely one of the most aptly named tracks of 2017.
It has a laser-like strobe surveying the horizon, dehumanised robot vocals and a bright acid line pulsing away above stiff, forceful drums. It’s one to melt minds in big
warehouse spaces, and is another winner from Pierre.

Zombie Nation is a master of this freaky, alien sound with a musical history that
includes chart topping releases alongside underground killers released over a near 20 year period. His superb remix takes the original and makes the drums and groove more elastic and bouncy, with piano chords bringing a little light and colour to the still acid laced track.

Djs Pareja have played in the most important clubs and festivals in Argentina and all over the world since 2000, taken their personal and eclectic style wherever they go. 

Core members of the amazing Cómeme record label run by Matias Aguayo, the duo have been integral in defining the new-school of techno made in South America. 
They have toured Europe three times, Mexico four times and the USA and Canada. They are the Argentinean djs with the most international growth in the last years by the hand of Cómeme and Turbo. 

They have been resident djs of the legendary Compass parties in Niceto Club Bs.As. and nowadays they throw their own parties, Fun Fun and Leftclub in the city capital. 
They have done remixes for Little Dragon, Justin Robertson, Rodion, Alejandro Paz, Steve Lawler, Gui Boratto and Matias Aguayo to name a few. 
Their latest releases are “Alto Remixes” on Cómeme and “Detona EP” on Sanfuentes Records.

After many years releasing largely on his own UKW label, Zombie Nation now makes a huge debut on the mighty Get Physical Music.

Zombie Nation is German DJ and producer Florian Senfter, the man behind a massive collection of esoteric electro and techno tracks and albums. A mainstay of International Deejay Gigolo and Turbo, Senfter twists weird sounds and computer game soundtracks into his own frizzled version of techno. Also a mesmeric live artist, he is a collector of vintage synths and that always shines through in his richly textured music.

First up here is the brilliantly twisted ‘Ticket.’ It’s a typically unusually tune with bobbling bass that keeps you on your toes as lead synths get skewed, stretched and smeared in all different directions. The groove builds and builds and its Zombie Nation’s mastery of his machines that keeps you locked in.

Then comes ‘Drafty’, a more curious and deep tune that sucks you down the rabbit hole where piano chords and warped synths keep you on edge. Crisp boom-bap drums drive the whole thing along and ensure this is another classic Zombie Nation freak-out.
No one sounds like Zombie Nation even after all these years, and this EP proves that once again.

TURBO 133 - ZOMBIE NATION - MEATHEAD

Turbo Recordings is proud to present the first single off the upcoming LP from Munich superproducer Zombie Nation.

We are beyond excited to present the latest release from one of our favorite artists, ZZT co-chairman Zombie Nation. These four amazing tracks offer a taste of his forthcoming full-length for Turbo (due at the end of the year), while demonstrating his eccentric studio genius and unique hitmaking sensibility.

"Meathead" starts things off in big-room banger mode, before segueing into a carnivalesque breakdown, with moody synths that acknowledge that all feasts - culinary, erotic or otherwise - must come to an end. "Attic Sundays" is analog snake charmer magic, bouncing cavernous sonar bass off every wall of the Bavarian Pyramids. "Blueberries" blends high-NRG synths with intricate clockwerk rhythms, redefining the landscape of acceptable peak-time geography. Finally, "Schoove" offers a full scholarship to Groove School, wedding a mangled vocal hook to alternately classy and grimy Kraut-Hop.

Today's dance scene has become a little too vegan-friendly for our liking. With this EP, Turbo provides a much-needed hot beef injection to the proceedings.
