First mix of 2026, and I wan to come back with something that actually represents where my sound is sitting right now.

This week I’ve gone fully into hard groove territory. Not in the most extreme sense, but in that driving, hypnotic, high-energy pocket I’ve been loving lately. Everything here is sitting around that 145 BPM sweet spot, fast enough to feel intense, but still controlled and groovy rather than chaotic. It’s the kind of sound I’ve been gravitating towards more and more, and also the style my mum keeps replaying from my mixes, so this is partly me introducing her, and anyone else who’s been enjoying that vibe, to some new flavours of it.

Opening with something really special, Chipper’s unreleased track “Are We Dreaming?”. Chipper’s always had that raw, driving energy in his productions, but the violin running through this track adds such a deep harmonic layer that just lifts it into something else entirely. It’s not just texture, it actually shapes the emotional weight of the whole tune. It reminds me of that emotional, trance-leaning techno space that artists like Ketama and Clouds sit in, while still feeling completely his own. I love supporting his work because every track he puts out feels thoughtful and beautifully made

From there it slides straight into “Pump Up The Jam” (Hard Groove Remix), which was a really fun pivot, taking something so iconic and flipping it into something darker, heavier, and more club-focused while still keeping that recognisable energy. That then flows into The Shapeshifters, “Lola’s Theme” (Hard Groove Remix), which keeps the momentum but adds that euphoric, almost nostalgic lift that I can’t resist.

Next up is “Pasilda” (Hard Groove Mix), pushing further into that rolling, hypnotic groove, before finishing with “Shook Ones” (Hard Groove Mix) to close things out with something raw, driving, and unapologetically heavy.

I will soon make a longer hard groove mix, but this is more of a re-entry for me, getting my hands back into the flow after a short break, but I’m genuinely really happy with how it turned out. All five tracks sit in the pocket I’m excited about right now, and this feels like the start of something new rather than just another upload
