ZOO's first trio album, 'Endangered Species', was released in Aug 2004.
'Survived' is a piece about and inspired by World War One ballads and poems, and the great acapella works of June Tabor.
Karen has always been an avid reader and student of material connected with both World Wars, and this track incorporates some of the feelings she read about in various accounts of the conflict.

The first track from the 'JetStream' suite. 

It is a look at man's impact on climate change - the intro features clips from news media reports over a 'Soft Violin Loop' sampled from Separate Productions unfinished project 'Spirits'. The main part of the track is built around a changing riff, which directly influences the following chord changes, mirroring man's influence on the climate.

The Anthropogenic Effect by JET Collective

'Carbon Love Affair' by Paul Biggins is a homage to man's obsession with all things Carbon and our dependence on it.  

The time signature is 4/4 (CO2 is 44, CH4 is 16, C is common time); Tempo is 100 (infrared emission wavelength at 255K = 4 to 100um); Each verse is 15 bars (CO2 absorption frequency = 15um).

Carbon love affair by JET Collective

Steve's track 'Troppo' is inspired by his time in the Caribbean. It is meant to signify that things are slightly crazy or that you are feeling a little out of sync. 
The first part is a seven note funk riff over a straight eight, which gives that slight hitch it. Then it's into a dancey, caribbean calypso followed by a more laid back section.

Eight musicians from the JET Collective spent a weekend developing the new suite of music inspired
by Derbyshire Landscapes, customs and ideas, (originally begunat the first JETWorks weekend on June 25/26th), and then performing it on the Sunday evening - who knew what would happen?
Jet Collective is a recently formed group of professional Derbyshire jazz musicians who have come together
to collaborate and explore musical opportunities outside our usual bands.
The musicians are Steve Salfield and Sara Littlefield on saxophones, Reg Clegg on guitar and bass, voice and production, Pat Sprakes on guitar and double bass, Paul Biggins on keyboard, bass and guitar, Wendy Kirkland on keyboard and vocals, Karen Clegg on vocals, piano, melodica and flute, Clive Loveday on drums.
'Storm over Derbyshire' reflects Paul's experiences of storms on numerous visits to the area. A new bridge has been added to the middle of the piece.
