Recorded in the summer of 89, when les enfants were fresh faced and forward looking, where things couldn't be much bleaker, so the future appeared wondrous and resembled the Anna Livia getting out of a bath. Coins were minted to mark the celebrations of the 2000th year since Dubh Linn squirmed its way out a marshy sess pool to become the progressive icon of an age wheremoney could be made, and by God are we going to make some money. 
Unfortunately, this never happened, Grin-Daddy happened instead......

Pyrne in the Gyre

Boy meets girl, girl flicks eyelids at boy. Boy dunks uneasily down nearest dank alleyway in desperate attempt at deflecting glare from girl. Girl forgets boy. Boy writes song about his adventure. Another girl writes song about similar adventure. Boy 1 and Girl 2 meet up and form a band. They all sort of live happily ever after.

Bullboers

How long is too long? - schoolchildren would say 40 minutes; the duration of one class, while mass goers would see this as an optimum time period to rejoice in the presence of the Almighty. Noddy Holder would say that if you can't say what you want in 3 minutes, its not worth saying. He might have been prone to premature ejaculation though, so maybe more time is needed to articulate in this post-post-modern world, so while you're reading through your sodding e-mails and keeping up with what's going on/wrong in the world, let the backdrop be something, i don't know, post-post-rock.

When the bell rings

Zorilla have been climbing the ladder of the Dublin Alt garage folk scene for so long now that it seems like they are the Dublin alt garage folk scene.  Their debut release entitled 'Songs in progress 2008' had songs featured on many radio stations around Ireland, including Icon on Phantom, who play listed the track ‘Empty Earth’. 
2009 saw the band play a regular monthly show at the Shed entitled ‘Earthquack’, which enabled them to try a whole new set every month and helped facilitate a more improvised and relaxed feel to the live music. 2010 saw the band firmly entrenched in studio activity, constantly trying new ways to recreate the live experience on record, to finally complete a satisfying general release…..
….speaking of which, 2011 promises to provide the platform for just that, starting with a downloadable version of the song ‘Bullboers’ in February. 
They may even be willing to make a public appearance, but then again, may not.
