Based on a Hungarian theme by Bela Bartok, we recorded a series of free improvisations together, one of which features on our debut album as 'The Dissolute Society', which will be released on Babel Label in 2017.

This song came from a stream of consciousness poem which I wrote very quickly, thinking about birth and death.

Education:
Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MMus Solo Cello Performance). Scholarships include being selected as a Britten Pears Young Artist 2019 for their prestigious Composition and Performance residency, Countess of Munster Award, Ruth Waddell Prize for string players, Guildhall School of Music and Drama scholarship and Royal Academy of Music scholarship.


Has collaborated with artists across a wide range of genres including contemporary classical, new music, jazz, free improvisation, electronic/dance music and in cross-genre projects with dancers, choreographers, composers and film makers. 

Live broadcasts and radio airplay on BBC Radio 3-The Late Junction, Jazz on 3, BBC Radio 6, Jazz FM and BBC Radio 4. 

Projects: 
Principal cellist with contemporary jazz/crossover ensembles 'Engine's Orchestra' and 'The Dissolute Society'. Recent and current collaborations include acclaimed jazz vocalist Fini Bearman's album 'La Loba' ; improvised cello arrangements for nu-soul singer The Naked Eye; Live album with Lisa Hannigan and stargaze ensemble; solo improvised cello on electronic producer DJRUM's critically acclaimed album 'Portrait with Firewood'; solo improvised cello for electronic duo Bicep on Meli(i) from their latest album 'Isles'; featured vocalist and co-songwriter on NonClassical Composer in Residence Dan Samsa's new album 'Contours' 2021. 

Collaborated with a wide range of performer-composers and singer-songwriters including: Jherek Bischoff, Amanda Palmer, LIsa Hannigan, Phronesis, Shruti Haasan, Stef Conner, MOBO nominated jazz guitarist Femi Temowo, The Naked Eye, Fini Bearman, Sonny Johns,  Juice Vocal Ensemble, Talvin Singh, Parcels, Blossoms.

Has performed world premieres of solo cello and chamber works by award-winning contemporary classical composers Deborah Pritchard, Samantha Fernando, Dave Maric, Samuel Bordoli and Elspeth Brooke. 

Has collaborated with choreographers, film makers and artists of various genres, including Tavaziva Dance, Watkins Dance, Sarah Kristiansen at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and Chisenhale Dance, film makers Oliver Guy Watkins, Tim Porter and Film/TV soundtrack composers Roly Witherow and Sarah Warne. 

Pop recording sessions and gigs include: Labrinth, Mercury Nominated band Blossoms, Charlotte Church, Charles Howl Band, Parcels, Josef Salvat.
