Jaaa, was für eine Nacht! 🫶 10 Jahre Zwischenmiete – das war der Wahnsinn.

Hier ist der Mitschnitt meines Vorspiels für Township Rebellion im Artheater Saal (00:30–02:00). Es war mir eine besondere Ehre, nach diesem Set an die Jungs zu übergeben – selten war ich so aufgeregt. 

Für alle, die da waren – und alle, die’s fühlen wollen: Viel Spaß beim Hören.

A weekend in mid-September, in Berlin.
But not just any weekend — it was my birthday.

Some of my favorite humans flew in from all over the world to celebrate, to laugh too loudly, to get lost together — and somehow, it all worked out perfectly.

For months I’d been trying to get a slot at Sisyphos, since my whole ENTourage was planning to end up there anyway — chasing sun, beats, and bad decisions. But two weeks before my birthday, the final “sorry, not this time” landed in my inbox.

Ah well, I thought. Life goes on. Sometimes it just says “no” — and then buys you a drink later.

Because the night before my birthday, out of nowhere, a booker from the Sisyphos crew messaged me. A slot had opened up — last minute, due to a cancellation — and they asked if I had the time and energy to fill it.
Time? Maybe not...but I want to.
Energy? Always.

So I said yes. And just like that, I got the most unexpected birthday gift: a chance to close the Dampfer floor. Massive thanks to the Sisyphos crew for that twist of fate❣️

My set started Saturday morning at 8 a.m., and I got to land the ship after a long night’s voyage. The DJ before me had already turned the place into a pressure cooker — so I took that heat, slipped into a trance, and let it all flow. The crowd followed beautifully. For three hours, we floated together — half-dreaming, half-dancing — into a golden Berlin noon.

Thank you, truly, to everyone who made that weekend what it was:
the crew at Sisy, my friends who came from near and far, the ridiculous sunshine that refused to give up, and of course the crowd — whose energy was pure magic.

Blind Motive's usual melodic style has taken a backseat with their latest release, courtesy of the legendary Todd Terry and his Sound Design imprint, this is the 'Venom EP'.

Lead track 'Venom' is carried by a stabbing lead part and hard hi hats, backed by classic hip hop samples and solid bass tones, making for an irresistible groove.

B side 'Static Colours', however, lends itself to the boys more melodic side, with subtle modular and acid elements. All in all making for a brilliant release to to help close 2016 on!

To say Stephan Zovsky's career started in 2019 would be wrong. It would omit any mention of the two decades of DJing he’s got under his belt already, with countless gigs all over the place. It would omit any mention of his 2010 album ‘The Village’, produced with long-year musical partner Sandro Schäufler. It would omit any mention of his first set as Green Lake Project in 2016. No, to say his career started in 2019 would be plain out wrong.

Yet 2019 is a milestone year in the life of this prolific creative from Mecklenburg Vorpommern, that rural North-Eastern corner of Germany. It's the year his ‘Connect EP’ is out on 3000Grad Records, the first of a perpetual string of releases. It's the year Stephan Zovsky starts his own label Sueslide, a launching pad for his growing musical output that finally meets his notoriously high quality standards towards himself. It's also the year ‘GLP’ drops - the debut album of Green Lake Project, his successful joint venture with Mollono.Bass.

His ever increasing skill level as a DJ and producer resonates intensely with the scene and its dancefloors: His tracks rank high in prestigious charts. His inbox is flooded with remix requests, some even from rather remote music scenes like Indie or Trance. He is invited to perform his Stephan Zovsky liveact at Fusion Festival's famous Turmbühne in 2021.

His diverse background and tireless productivity make it impossible to pin Stephan Zovsky down to a particular genre. Anyway, mentioning his name in one breath with the term ‘Melodic Techno’ doesn't make him frown; the terms ‘tool-like’, ‘DJ-oriented’ or ‘club-ready’ make him smile. You won't hear him playing obvious bawl-along hits, but neither will you hear him playing nerdy, overly intellectual tunes. His understated, functional style sits comfortably in the middle, making him the perfect prime time artist for those moments when it's all about no-frills, strictly-thrills dancefloor ecstasy.

Es ist das Jahr, in dem 'GLP' erscheint, das erste Album von Green Lake Project, seinem erfolgreichen Gemeinschaftsprojekt mit Mollono.Bass.

Seine beständig wachsende Kunstfertigkeit hinterlässt in der Szene und auf ihren Dancefloors einen deutlich spürbaren Eindruck: Seine Tracks tauchen regelmäßig in viel beachteten Charts auf. Ihn erreichen immer mehr Anfragen für Remixes, sogar aus recht weit entfernten Szenen wie etwa dem Indie- oder Trance-Umfeld. Er wird mit seinem Stephan Zovsky Liveact auf die sagenumwobene Turmbühne des Fusion Festivals 2021 eingeladen.

Mit Blick auf seinen vielfältigen Hintergrund und seine unermüdliche Produktivität ist es schlichtweg unmöglich, Stephan Zovsky einem bestimmten Genre zuzuordnen. Wenn wir ihn in einem Atemzug mit dem Begriff 'Melodic Techno' erwähnen, dann runzelt er zumindest nicht die Stirn; wenn wir Begriffe wie 'toolartig', 'DJ-tauglich' oder 'tanzflächenkompatibel’' verwenden, dann schmunzelt er. Vorhersehbare Mitgröhl-Hits gibt es von ihm ebenso wenig zu hören wie allzu verkopften Frickel-Sound. Mit seinen funktionalen und doch subtilen Sets passt er ideal in jene Art von Spitzenzeit, in der es ganz ohne Hype und Schnickschnack einfach nur gediegen zur Sache gehen soll.
