Abride, Abridged is tracks 3 and 4 (respectively) of a contiguous 4-track EP called Re:Imaginings (the debut EP from Zach Promesa). It's made almost entirely out of abandoned sounds from a long-gone college recording project, found years later on a dead hard drive. In its short 12 minute runtime, the EP covers a lot of ground, featuring guitars stretched into synth-like textures, glitched out vocals, and arhythmic drum patterns. Thematically, Re:Imaginings is a meditation on failure, a critique of marriage and its cultural precedent, and a revelation that equates the creation of art with the pursuit of truth.
