Stil vor Talent marks the completion of its anniversary remix series with '20 Years Stil vor Talent Remixed', arriving December 19, 2025 as a full digital and vinyl compilation. The release unites the entire collection of reinterpretations created throughout the year, celebrating the legacy of the label's catalogue and the many artists who have shaped its sound.

From Kaufmann (DE)'s driving take on 'Der Mückenschwarm' to GHEIST's characteristic version of 'Bones', the compilation spans a wide spectrum of modern house, indie dance and techno. Hidden Empire, Andhim, Atric & Frida Darko, Gerd Janson, Ede & Deckert and Oliver Koletzki himself contribute their own perspectives, linking past and present in bold and colourful ways.

Oliver Koletzki feat HVOB – Bones (Frida Darko & Atric 20yrs SVT TRemix) [Snippet]

Jedes Kind kennt das Märchen von einem, der auszog das Fürchten zu lernen. 

Ein sagenhafter Draufgänger, gelangweilt vom Leben, apathisch in der eigenen comfort zone verkümmernd, bricht aus und geht dorthin, wo es weh tut. Ein klassischer Stoff, der in einer Konjunktur der von Bequemlichkeitsterror geplagten Selbstoptimierer aktueller ist denn je. Wer könnte das Märchen klangvoller in die Gegenwart übersetzen, als ein Typ, der sein aktuelles Album folgendermaßen eröffnet: Everyday I wake up so tired of myself / And everyday I get up so I don’t bore myself to death.  

Dieser Typ heißt Ivan Georgiev, besser bekannt als ZPYZ. Und dieses Album, von dem hier die Rede ist, hat niemals eine einzige comfort zone von innen gesehen. Es entstand in der tiefsten Provinz Bulgariens, in einem selbstgebauten kleinen Studio, abseits von Zivilisation und für Studioarbeit nicht gerade unerheblicher Infrastruktur. Stichwort: Strom. Diese wohl konsequenteste Form der Landflucht dorthin wo nichts anzutreffen ist außer ein bisschen Vieh und der Geist Ivans’ Familiengeschichte, war der notwendige, radikale Schritt zurück, um künstlerisch endlich den befreienden, souveränen Schritt nach vorn machen zu können. 

Klar war es auch ein Akt von Selbstfindung. Das erste Kapitel von ZPYZ, also die Zusammenarbeit mit Flo ‚Locke’ Hirche war auserzählt. Die über Berlin schwebende anything goes-Mentalität kippte für Ivan vor ein paar Jahren in einen Horror der Optionen um. Wenn immer alles möglich ist, wird im schlimmsten Fall nichts fertig. Die Partyroutine, die Routinen im Allgemeinen, die E-Mails, die Leute, die Reizschwemme, das alles war zu viel. Dort im Nirgendwo der Balkanhalbinsel gab es nichts dergleichen. Wie auch, es gab ja noch nicht mal zivilisatorische Grundstandards oder jemanden zum Reden. 

Im Vertrauen auf die weit verbreitete These, ein Werk sei immer auch das Produkt seiner Entstehungsbedingungen, mag es etwas paradox klingen. Aber für einen großen und weiter denkenden Pop-Wurf wie „Download The Future“ war die größtmögliche Abschottung von der Pop-Welt die beste Entscheidung überhaupt. Vielleicht sollte man dazu sagen, dass es sich bei Ivan nicht nur einen musikalischen Alleskönner handelt, sondern auch um einen getriebenen Geist, dem im positivsten Sinne der Wahnsinn zu unterstellen ist, den man Genies gerne nachsagt. Ivan hat drei neue Songs fertig, während sich andere gerade mal die Schuhe zugebunden haben. Über Monate im bulgarischen Vakuum ausschließlich auf sich selbst zurückgeworfen zu sein, hat nun endlich auf schlüssigste Weise die Frage beantwortet, wie ZPYZ zu klingen hat. Die Songschreiber-Seele Ivans lag noch nie so frei wie auf diesem Album und die Produktion dieser Songs formuliert kristallklar wie nie, worum es bei ZPYZ schon immer ging. Um die große Geste, die sich locker über Genre-Grenzen und alle möglichen Erwartungen hinweg setzt. Und um eine Offenheit, die abseits von abgewichster Liedermacher-Sentimentalität, eine Herz- und Knie-erweichende Gefühlstiefe in die Songs gräbt. 

Diese Offenheit bleibt auch formal immer im Dienste des Songs. Scheiß auf die Codes of Cool, wenn ein Song danach ruft, wäre auch ein bulgarischer Hirtenchor als Hook-Lieferant denkbar. Ist bislang aber nicht passiert. Was bislang passierte, sind an Funk, Disco, Elektronik und Rock geschulte instant-Klassiker, in deren Arrangements unüberschaubar viele Detail-Afterburner verbaut wurden, die – und an dieser Stelle ist der Albumtitel gar nicht mal so vermessen – das Material absolut zukunftssicher machen. Ob das die Fernweh-Hymne und gleichzeitig erste Single „Take Me On A Trip“ ist, die breitwandig inszenierte Catchieness von „The most beautiful legs“, der wehrlos machende Synthie-Schmelz von „Well I“, das Downbeat-Duett in „Clown“, das sich rough dahin schleppende „Soldiers day“ oder irgendein anderer Song auf diesem Album – sie alle sind gekommen als die Lieblingslieder der Zukunft. 

Erinnern wir uns: Der eine, der auszog das Fürchten zu lernen, war die ganze Geschichte über so tapfer, dass er am Ende die Königstochter zur Frau bekam. Keine Ahnung, was im Privatleben des Ivan ZPYZ so abgeht. Fakt aber ist, dass hier am Ende der Geschichte ein Album steht, dem man sofort einen bedingungslosen Heiratsantrag machen möchte.
