’This is the story of Eva, the first person to have their consciousness uploaded onto the cloud, with the help of Evergreen, an online platform specialised in digital immortality.

Successfully led through seductive visions, Eva's consciousness breaks free from the material realm and relocates itself in the virtual space of Lethe.

Once landed in her new state however, Eva realises that part of her contract with Evergreen is to execute the role of virtual assistant for the living customers for the rest of eternity.

Is this the new forever or is it Samsara?

The sleep of the beast is made of questions and Eva is the shadow of an old world, dreaming.’

Following the devastating explosion at the Port of Beirut on August 4, Ma3azef teamed up with New York-based mastering engineer Heba Kadry to curate a compilation by regional and international musicians to raise funds for the continuous relief work being done on the ground in Beirut to help those who have been failed by the Lebanese state.

Today, we're happy to announce two additional remixes to be added to the compilation: ZULI's Kiwii, remixed by El Kontessa; Deena Abdelwahed's Wein El Malayeen, remixed  by Ancient Methods.

The 19-track compilation includes contributions by the likes of Fatima Al Qadiri, Nicolás Jaar, ZULI, Slikback, and others. Bringing sounds together from the different crevices of electronic music, it is a humble attempt to galvanize musicians and listeners into supporting a city that has been integral in shaping the region’s contemporary music scene.

All proceeds from the sales of the compilation are going to local initiatives to provide assistance to those affected, they will be divided between Fundraising Campaign for the Arts and Culture Community in Beirut organized by AFAC; Beirut Musicians' Fund organized by Tunefork Studios, and Beit el Baraka.

Club Matryoshka and CTM came together for CTM's 22nd festival edition to revisit the Alpha Lebbeus world, 40 years after we first explored the expansive planet together. With this follow-up collaboration, Club Matryoshka expanded on this unique Minecraft world, together with a story-based gameplay narrative co-developed with artist collective Children of Cyberspace. The six-hour journey was soundtracked by live and DJ sets created by a diverse group of emerging artists from around the globe, curated in a collaborative spirit by Club Matryoshka and CTM.

Founded in 2019, Club Matryoshka is an international virtual venue, home and safe haven to underground and unorthodox music mutants. Based in the Philippines and built in Minecraft, Club Matryoshka was founded and developed by a community of gamers, artists, and musicians. similarobjects, dot.jaime, cavill, ahju$$i, JohnPope, and Maengo69 felt a lack of freedom and acceptance in club scenes, both in Manila and abroad, and sought alternative avenues for sharing their work and finding community. The club opened in July 2019, barely a year before COVID-19 would bring in-person events and nightlife to a halt.

DAWAFER by QOW (Omar El Sadek) is a pressure-cooked stockpile of built up energy with only incidental, surprising release valves; the rhythmical approach varies from fluid, goopy, malleable percussion to a sometimes more overtly kinetic confrontational pulse - before dissipating into a fog of looming, scorching sound clusters, murky pads that seem to radiate heat, implying scraping, stretched transformations of the raw material. Razor-sharp, gleeming metallic reflections, rattling membranes, spring-loaded patterns are interspersed or even temporarily hijacked by faint mutterings, mangled voices and chance recordings, figuring as the marker and constant reminder of a mostly invisible but always pushing phantom presence.
