Biography

Formed in 2010, Zulu’s At Work are a Soweto based duo of producers/remixers/djs. Their sound, though artily different, takes on both the deep and soulful part of house music. They take nothing away from other sub-genres when they include every element they find in whatever folk of sound they can get their hands on. Be it an old Fritz Band hihats, to the crispy clear drums of Maceo Parkers elements, & the rhythmic sounds of Mr Manic & Sister Cool.

Zulu’s At Work are of course, Ntsikelelo Riaan Khuzwayo & Lunga Chiedza Tlou. These guys practically do everything together, from your Basslines, Synths, and Keys, to mixing and arranging. 

Ntsikelelo has been producing since his school years in 2005, and has a strong house music background as he grew up in a house music dominated household, his father being the main source of feeding his soul with timeless tunes, it was just a matter of time before the young him grasped the essence of having the desire to produce the sounds he grew up listening to.

Lunga grew up in a household where music wasn’t a big thing hence his versatility in the music he listens too showcases how he was musically schooled in & by the streets. Started experimenting with the trade at age 14 through softwares such as Automix, mixing mp3’s, experimenting with different sounds until too much Quentin Harris channelled all energy towards the desire to make deep & soulfull house. Meeting Ntsikelelo in 2009 is what he refers to as divine intervention where two young inspired beings mashed up to create magic and we all know that the rest is…not history but the Future.
