The minute I heard Gene Loves Jezebel's version of "Ask" I knew I would soon record my own interpretation. I've always loved The Smiths. They have remained a true inspiration. I used some of the Gene Loves Jezebel lyrics because I thought they were clever and not many people give enough credit to Morrissey's humor. I wanted to throw in a laugh for him. I mean no disrespect to the master poet! Also, towards the end I flipped 'the bomb' and 'love'. Quite honestly, I plain sang it wrong but it was the best take so I made lemonade of it. I certainly hope we can all help each other through this crazy world.

The striking woman in the photograph is Mexican actress Dolores Del Rio. If you stare at her long enough you will fall in love. You have been warned.

This was all recorded in my home studio I affectionately call The Dozier Lab.
