This is my first release after learning to dj/mix three months ago (Aug 2024). Its a taste of my favorite genres to hit on many levels. 
Life Opens is the title which comes from a long desire to honor my passion for electronic music. I finally feel like I'm opening expansive aspects of my soul purpose with this creative expression and look forward to many more mixes/sets. This is my second mix which I recorded the day after my LIFE OPENS mix. Thank you for bearing witness to my pleasure!

WHO AM I was inspired by all the times I've tried living up to others standards and versions of who I "should" be.. which only left me feeling empty and disempowered. After a continuous process of getting to know thyself, I feel free and confident to meet myself exactly where I am. Music is the medicine thats held me throughout life.

This is my third mix from home and it moves like ever-changing waves of the ocean, predictable, yet unpredictable. The title and theme was inspired from the waves of change that happen throughout the night and dark moments of life. Waking up (in any form) to find life being different than I remembered. Whether in the dream world or awake, this music has held space for the uncomfortable moments in life where one surrenders to the change occurring. Life can be a progressive journey or it can be all over the place.. and these tracks have held beautiful space for transformation and connection with others.

This mix can feel cold, timeless, dark and even sexy..

This mix is some of the core music that really is a deep expression of my soul. I was scared of the dark/darkness until I realized that everything is here to serve me and that its ok to lean into fear in the name of my personal truth. The wild and dark elements of my path have led to the brightest moments of personal empowerment and feeling good about myself. I learned that the wholeness of my being is made up of light and dark and each side needs a balance to experience communion. I also began to see that there is a difference between the dark and shadow parts of self. After having this awareness, I was able to heal shadow elements thru the power of my united light and dark sides.

WILD DARK in the DEEP (Mix #4) Mostly Deep and Dark Bass, Heavy Dubz, Deep/Dark House (BPM 140-85)

This mix was spontaneously created without any preplanning of which tracks to play. Usually I orchestrate a progression for a mix and pick which tracks fit best. This time I was ushered into Trusting Self and that it would all work out whether I knew the steps or not. I’m letting this be a raw teaching moment to trust the steps of life, even when I can’t see the outcome or even the next step. I also worked thru hesitation that each track would mix together and dealing with volume levels being a little off. Overall, this mix has held space for me to follow the moment and not worry about self judgements or what others may think. This experience has allowed me to just be in the moment as each breath guided me and to accept this mix as it is.

This mix is a recreation of my first social gig in Pa’ia, Hawaii at the Aumakua Kava Bar. I’m beyond grateful for Rigz (Salt and Sound Collective) for inviting me and being such a monumental step with me playing live! I didn’t get a chance to record the live set and I felt inspired to recreate it at home. I kept going beyond what I played live, so the last hourish (everything after 3WA Space Impact) was added as I was in the flow to play my backup tracks that I didn’t have time for at the gig. This mix was also a huge exploration where I began playing with more sound effects while transitioning to the next track. I’m very proud of myself for having such a blast with this mix.

This mix was inspired from a chilled tea & connection gathering after UnderStory where I had my second time playing on a Void Sound System (mahalo Bass Nymph). It was the day after I opened for Dillard, along with the other local talent here on Maui. The first 30 minutes was what I played live, although I had tons of music in the queue, which I ended up adding to this mix.

Get ready for a chilled ambient, female vocal sound and euphoric journey with this mix. It ranges from the emotional parts of my souls dreamy essence into mild bass beats and futuristic elements of sound.. all spiraled with echos and atmospheric piano.

This mix is straight up deep and dark 140 dubstep! This genre is by far my favorite on many levels. I was scared of “dark stuff” as a kid and its a blast to enjoy these vibes as an adult, along with not being afraid of any dark/shadow aspects that life brings me.
This mix was inspired from the heaviness that life can bring (which I’ve been getting hit pretty hard lately). I felt this igniting within my being to mix some music based on my mood. I had so many songs in the queue that I decided to make a part 1 and part 2 of the Deeper Realms.

StarBreather’s mixes are a journey of emotion and always have a theme based on what life is presenting him. Having a soundtrack is whats held beautiful space for his (and others) journey in this world.

He hovers along the downtempo deep bass lines of dubstep that range anywhere from organic/tribal, deep/dark, euphoric and uplifting bass music.

It’s a true pleasure for him to create space with music holding a container for people to meet themselves in new ways. He enjoys planning each song along with intuitively blending music based off the collective heart of the dancers.
