Álvaro de Campos, Hamlet, Falstaff. ‘Se te queres matar, porque não te queres matar?’, one of the most famous poem by Campos-Fernando Pessoa, is undoubtedly indebted with Hamlet’s famous soliloquy ‘To be or not to be’ by William Shakespeare. In the poem, Álvaro de Campos deconstructs the logic of Hamlet’s fear of the ‘undiscover’d country’ and argues that nothing is known in any case, moreover he presents an opposite worldview example against Hamlet: Falstaff. Starting from the selection of verses by ‘Se te queres matar’, ‘To be or not to be’ and by Falstaff’s monologue from II act of 'The merry wives of Windsor', the composer has created a new text in Portuguese and English with a rich dramaturgy between the voices. Analogies and contrasts between Campos, Hamlet and Falstaff follow continuously each other, resulting in a fascinating composition with tragic, suggestive, sarcastic and even grotesque tones.

Zuzana is a Czech born composer and singer. She graduated from Berklee College of Music receiving her Master of Music degree in Scoring for Film, Televison and Video Games.   

She began to develop her music abilities at a very young age starting with piano and voice lessons. Visual arts and literature, stories and moods bound to these media have always inspired her musical imagination. Following this her long-term interest in working with texts, images and music lead her to focus on composing music for screen and for theater. 
 
Recently, she had an opportunity to record and conduct her film music for 51 piece orchestra with foremost London musicians at renowned Abbey Road Studios in London. Zuzana is also an author of two one-act operas, one of which was premiered in Prague as a graduation project at Prague Conservatory where she gained her classical composition training.
